    1. Be a person who hears the voice of God
    “for Naomi had heard in the land of Moab that the Lord had visited His people in giving them food.” Ruth1:6

    2. You were not designed to walk alone.
    “Orpah kissed her mother-in-law, but Ruth clung to her.” Ruth 1:14

    3. Keep your attitude in check
    “Do not call me Naomi; call me Mara, for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.” Ruth 1:20
    “I went away full, but the Lord has brought me home empty.” Ruth 1:22

    4. God desires to bless you.
    “Then the women of the town said to Naomi, ‘Praise the Lord, who has now provided a redeemer for your family! May this child be famous in Israel. May he also be to you a restorer of life and a sustainer of your old age”’ Ruth 4:14 & 15

    1.  Deborah was listening for the Lord.

    2.  She took the lead.
    “That the leaders took the lead in Israel”          Judges 5:2

    3.  She empowered Barak to lead.
    “And Deborah said to Barak, ‘Up! For this is the day in which the Lord has given Sisera into your hand. Does not the Lord go out before you?’” Judges 4:14

    4.  Deborah’s obedience led to victory for Israel.
    “So on that day God subdued Jabin the king of Canaan before the people of Israel.”  Judges 4:23

    1. Embrace the season you are in.
    “Sarai was barren; she had no child.” Genesis 11:30

    2. Waiting patiently is an act of faith.
    “I will make you a great nation” Genesis 12:2
    “the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Please go in to my maid; perhaps I will obtain children through her.” Genesis 16:2

    3. God’s plan is greater than your ability.
    “Now Abraham and Sarah were old, advanced in age; Sarah was past childbearing.” Genesis 18:11
    ‘“Can an old woman like me have a baby?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord?” Genesis 18:14
    “God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we are able to ask or think” Ephesians 3:20

    4. God’s timing is often different than ours

    2. God knows your heart

    2. Focus on what God has said rather than what you see

    3. Spiritual battles are not won through human effort.

    4. Take the fight to the enemy
    “My servant Caleb, because he has had a different spirit and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land which he entered, and his descendants shall take possession of it”

    1. Choose to follow God rather than culture.
    “When you are helping the Hebrew women to give birth and see them upon the birthstool, if it is a son, then you shall put him to death….But the midwives feared God, and did not do as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but let the boys live” Exodus 1:16 & 17

    2. Value Life
    “They allowed the boys to live” Exodus 1:17

    3. Daily decisions determine destinies.
    “The woman conceived and bore a son…she hid him for three months.” Exodus 2:2

    4. God blesses obedience
    “Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are vigorous and give birth before the midwife can get to them.” Exodus 1:19
    “God was good to the midwives, and the people multiplied, and became very mighty. Because the midwives feared God, He established homes for them.” Exodus 1:20, 21

    2.  The power of His presence
    o    The power to deliver
    “it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper and from the deadly pestilence.”                    Psalm 91:3
    “Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.” Ps. 91:14
    o    The power to protect
    “His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark. You will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day” Psalm 91:4 & 5
    “A thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not approach you.”            Psalm 91:7
    “God will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, that you do not strike your foot against a stone.”    Psalm 91:11 & 12
