Acts 4:32 – 35

Acts 2:43
1. Community opens the door for needs to be met
“not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property” Acts 4:32
“there was not a needy person among them” Acts 4:34
“Christ’s love compels us” 2 Corinthians 5:14
“Two are better than one….For if either of them falls, the other can reach out and help.” Eccl. 4:9 & 10
2. Community opens the door for encouragement
“But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God” Acts 16:25
“suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were
opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened.” Acts 16:26
“the jailer brought Paul and Silas into his house and set food before them, and rejoiced greatly, having believed in God with his whole household.” Acts 16:34
“let us consider how to motivate one another to love and good works…encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the
day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24 & 25
“encourage one another day after day…so that none of you will be deceived by sin” Hebrews 3:13

3. Community opens the door to boldness
“Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted his voice and addressed them” Acts 2:14
“saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus." Acts 4:13
“be strong and courageous” Joshua 1:6 – 9
“God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
4. Community opens the door to the supernatural
“Peter was kept in the prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.” Acts 12:5
“Peter came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying.”
Acts 12:12
“And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and
began to speak the word of God with boldness.” Acts 4:31
“where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.” Matthew 18:20
“not neglecting to meet together” Hebrews 10:25
“Jesus did not do many miracles there because of their unbelief.” Matthew 13:58
