  • Unshakeable Hope

    The Unshakeable Hope

    May 18, 2025    Mason Worthy

     1 Kings 17:1-24

     1.  Hope from our God is unshakeable

“as the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall be neither dew nor rain these years, except by my word.”            1 Kings 17:1

     2.  Hope from our God is not dependent on earthly circumstance

“I have nothing baked, only a handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug.”                                                                                         1 Kings 17:12

“The jar of flour was not spent, neither did the jug of oil become empty, according to the word of the Lord that He spoke by Elijah.”     1 Kings 17:16

     3.  Hope from our God leads us towards the impossible

“Then he stretched himself upon the child three times and cried to the Lord, ‘O Lord my God, let this child’s life come into him again.’”       1 Kings 17:21

“And the woman said to Elijah, ‘Now I know that your are a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is truth.’”                   1 Kings 17:24

     3.  Rememberwhat God has done

“Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on earth.”                                                                                                     James 5:17
