In the Bible Profile series, I have now left Genesis and moved into Exodus. The most significant figure of Exodus, is of course, Moses. It would take years to cover all of the events of Moses’ life, so I chose to focus on the times we find Moses on certain mountains.

We all have opinions and they can certainly be valuable to us. Our lives can be shaped in positive ways if we listen to the opinions of the older, wiser people in our lives. However, opinions can be dangerous and a tremendous source of strife and conflict if used recklessly. With the internet and social media, it is easier than ever to give opinions. In our society everyone wants to ‘comment’ on everything. The Bible speaks clearly about how Christians should handle expressing their opinions. In this sermon, Brother Luke uses scripture to warn us of the dangers of recklessly expressed opinions.

In the one anothering series, I look at the big picture of Jesus and John’s teachings on loving one another. I think it is safe to conclude that when we embrace what the Bible teaches on the details of loving one another, we are left without excuse! We can never say – I don’t know what to do in order to love my neighbor… There can be no doubt what we are to do. May God bless us to get busy with one anothering.

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? That is an age-old question that has baffled the minds of many. However, the Bible clearly tells us which came first. Along those same lines we ask the question…which comes first, belief or being born again. In this sermon, Brother Luke uses the scriptures to show that belief is not a means to be born again, but rather evidence you have already been.

The Jubilee celebration was a declaration of liberty every 50th year in Israel. Sadly, there is no record in the Bible of this celebration being observed. In a sense, we celebrate a yearly jubilee of America every July 4. In a much greater way than the OT or our national anniversary of freedom, the Lord Jesus has granted us liberty from our sins forever!

In the last sermon of the series on understanding your Bible, Brother Luke looks at the ‘alls’, ‘everys’, and ‘worlds’ of the scriptures. If we always take these words as being universally and totally inclusive, we will find ourselves in much confusion. All means all…right? Not usually. In this sermon he looks at how it is imperative that we put these key words in context to keep from creating false doctrines.
