The pandemic has revealed gaps in social protection for vulnerable groups, including senior citizens. However at the same time, it has jumpstarted systems to deliver assistance to these groups. What can be done to ensure that we have a strong social protection system for the ageing group beyond the pandemic? We speak with Emeritus Professor Datuk Dr Norma Mansor for her insights, based on the Malaysia Ageing and Retirement Survey.
