Matt Allen is a lifelong Coastside local whose story runs from 90s skateboarding and local bands to wilderness survival, wolf tracking, and 25 years teaching special education. From rafting the Grand Canyon and exploring the backcountry to helping at-risk youth, Matt has dedicated his life to serving others and is now running for reelection to the Granada Community Services District board to help shape the future of the Coastside. We get into old-school Half Moon Bay stories, wild outdoor adventures, education, local politics, and what it takes to preserve the community we call home.

Bob takes us through decades of Coastside history, commercial fishing in the Bering Sea and Alaska, building a major fishing operation with his brother John, and helping shape the American fishing industry.

Julie is Coastside native and longtime Half Moon Bay entrepreneur, she shares her journey from becoming a barber and raising three kids to owning multiple local businesses, including Main Street Hair Design, Main Barber, and Posh Pumpkins. She also founded the HMB Barber & Cosmetology Apprenticeship Program, creating a path to California barber licensing, skilled trades, and career opportunities for Coastside youth without having to leave the community.
