Before joining Starbucks, Mark worked for Hines on the Amazon account, implementing programs across North America that harmonized transportation benefits with local services. Mark's previous stops also include the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), where he developed performance targets for large employers, and Swedish Hospital, helping them achieve their regulatory obligations for the first time in 30 years.

Mark is a member of the  Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Wall of Fame for his trip reduction work with employers. He is currently the Chair of the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT) Employer Council and a recipient of their 40 under 40 Award.

She currently serves on the RTD Citizens Advisory Committee and Boulder B-cycle Board, and is an American Planning Association Colorado Board Member.

Before joining CDPHE he spent over twenty years practicing environmental law, including serving as a Sr. Assistant Attorney General for the State of Colorado representing CDPHE’s Air Division. His work as counsel for the Air Division included representing the state in adoption of the 2014 “methane rules” for oil and gas (the first GHG regulations for oil and gas production in the US), and in the adoption of Colorado’s Low and Zero Emission Vehicle standards. Prior to his work in Colorado, Clay has worked as an attorney in Washington D.C. and internationally on climate issues. He served as an invited speaker at the 2006 United Nations Climate Change Conference and is an author of a chapter in the book, “Legal Aspects of Carbon Trading” published by Oxford University Press.  Outside of work he is an avid rock and mountain climber, and has summited several of the world’s highest peaks including Mt. Everest. He is also a husband and proud father of two.
