Beware of the Scribes

Listen Later

We’re jumping back into our Gospel of Mark series this Sunday as we turn our attention to Mark 12:13-44. In this passage, we see a contrast among various religious leaders in how they viewed Jesus and responded to him. Their responses exposed what truly lay in their hearts (pride, arrogance, selfishness, etc.), resulting in lives that appeared religious on the outside but were ultimately empty without Christ.
As we walk through these verses, we’ll see that pursuing the way of God always calls us to full surrender. When we give ourselves to him, he secures our eternal destiny and begins to transform our lives here and now. The way of God reshapes our hearts, realigns our priorities, and reorders our steps, while leading us to a life that honours the Lord and brings true fulfilment.
