For Episode 5, Dan sat down with ANDY CAIRNS, guitarist, composer, the founding member of Therapy? and JAAW. Coming from the underground scene of Northern Ireland, Andy became of the most prolific songwriters and lyricists of the 90’s, organically uniting pessimism with post-modernistic worldview. In 2023, Cairns, a prolific songwriter released two new albums. First of all, ‘Hard Cold Fire’, the newest LP of Therapy? (available now via Marshall Records). Secondly, ‘Superclaster’, the debut release of JAAW – Andy’s project founded with Adam Betts, Jason Stoll and Wayne Adams. In this episode of Beyond Recognition Andy Cairns discusses the roots of pessimism in lyrics and the popularity of 'Troublegum', the chemistry in Therapy? and Andy’s ‘tabula rasa’ with JAAW; touring and life-learning experiences, the dramatism of 'Infernal Love', love of post-punk and a lot more.

We're getting back with Episode 4 featuring NICHOLAS BARKER. Drummer, composer, a virtuoso musician. Nick got his first recognition as the drummer of Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. Since the late 90's Barker's been the member of a large variety bands and projects including Lock Up, Brujeria, Shining, Barstol - to name just a few.
As some of you might know, Nick has been suffering quite an extreme health condition due to the kidney failure. So we'd set up this episode to discuss the life of a great artist AND get some attention to the GoFoundMe campaign that was set up to help Nick overcoming his issues - you can make a donation here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/nicholas-barker

The Locust, Deaf Club, Dead Cross, Planet B, Swing Kids, All Leather...These are just the small part of Justin's rich catalogue.
In this episode of Beyond Recognition we talk about the of "punk" and being punk in San-Diego in the 90's, about the foundation of Three One G and Justin's view on record-label machinery from different perspectives, seeing GG Allin live and extreme, the love of grindcore and capitalism.
