In a stunning about-face, the media and government are finally giving credit to the lab leak hypothesis. For the entirety of the pandemic, the hypothesis has been labelled everything from a "conspiracy theory" to a Conservative/Trump talking point. We discuss the sudden change, why it came about and what we can learn from it.

This week we interview local police officer and BJJ Purple Belt Craig Hanaumi. This is a huge honor for both of us. We have been wanting to interview him for a while and were finally able to nail down a time! We discuss a wide range of topics in this interview. He goes into why he chose law enforcement as a career. What he loves about Jiu Jitsu. The importance of humanizing police officers and how it is on the departments themselves to do that. Lastly, he discusses the current polarized views regarding the police.

We continue our discussion on peak performance and deliberate practice. In particular, we focus on the excellent book Peak by Anders Ericsson and Robert Pool. The conversation involves personal life experiences from Beau's childhood. Additionally, we extrapolate the ideas in Peak to broader society and explore their utility in fixing our broken culture.

Today we discuss Jiu-Jitsu pedagogy. Pedagogy is the method or practice of teaching. As it relates to Jiu Jitsu, we discuss HOW instructors teach what they teach. Additionally, we discuss the issues we see with it and go over potential ways of teaching that would be beneficial to students.

Here, we discuss the various arguments surrounding vaccine passports. Additionally, we explore the slippery slope fallacy. Often, the fallacy is used to dismiss an idea. This is detrimental to good-faith discourse and societal healing. Ultimately, we are both left conflicted and unsure of the proper course of action. The one thing we do agree on, however, is the lack of trust people have in big tech companies and the government.
