Beyond Shodh proudly brings you all its 3rd episode "The Art of Surviving: decoding cell death" with Prof. Chandrimawith Shaha, a distinguished biologist and the first woman president of the Indian National Science Academy. Currently, she is working as J. C. Bose Chair Distinguished Professor at the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Kolkata. She is also the former Director and Professor of Eminence at the National Institute of Immunology.
She shares her insights on her research interests, vision, the challenges and opportunities for women in science, the importance of science communication and outreach, and her passion for cricket. She also talks about her research on cellular defense mechanisms and cell death in different model systems, and how they have implications for understanding diseases such as cancer and Kala-azar. Prof. Shaha is an inspiring leader and a role model for young scientists who aspire to pursue excellence in science and contribute to society.
