Beyond Shodh proudly brings you all its 3rd episode "The Art of Surviving: decoding cell death" with Prof. Chandrimawith Shaha, a distinguished biologist and the first woman president of the Indian National Science Academy. Currently, she is working as J. C. Bose Chair Distinguished Professor at the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Kolkata. She is also the former Director and Professor of Eminence at the National Institute of Immunology.

She shares her insights on her research interests, vision, the challenges and opportunities for women in science, the importance of science communication and outreach, and her passion for cricket. She also talks about her research on cellular defense mechanisms and cell death in different model systems, and how they have implications for understanding diseases such as cancer and Kala-azar. Today on our show we are blessed to have India's well-renowned plant biologist, Prof. Paramjit Khurana as our special guest for the Beyond Shodh Special series called Beyond Her Shodh. She is currently working as a Senior Professor at the Department of Plant Molecular Biology, University of Delhi South Campus. She has made major contributions to plant biotechnology, molecular biology, and plant genomics, increasing stress tolerance in crops and sustainable agriculture, especially in wheat and mulberry genomics. Her group also contributed to the sequencing of wheat and rice genome as a part of the Indian team. She has received numerous awards and honors for her contribution. Further, She is an active member of various Academic and Scientific societies. Her group published over 200 scientific publications with several patents.
