Beyond Sight: Money in the Dark episodes

  • Thirty-Two Years in His Name

Beyond Sight: Money in the Dark | Financially Growing LLC

Tanya is sitting in an exam room in a paper gown, twenty minutes after hearing the word “biopsy,” staring at a blank line on an intake form: list all accounts, credit cards, and loans currently held in your name. She's fifty-four years old. She's been married thirty-two years. And she genuinely doesn't know the answer.

This episode isn't really about the diagnosis, which turned out to be good news. It's about the second truth Tanya found hiding inside the first: three decades of building a family and never once building a financial identity of her own. This is the story of what she decided to do about it, in the middle of treatment, at fifty-four, and why she chose to be walked through it instead of handed a worksheet.

  • The Six A.M. Floor

Beyond Sight: Money in the Dark | Financially Growing LLC

Every morning at 6am, before anyone else in the house wakes up, my friend Marla sits on the closed lid of her bathroom toilet and runs the full mental list of everything she manages alone. She hasn't asked her husband Derek for help with any of it in over a year, not because he wouldn't, but because somewhere along the way, being a good wife started meaning carrying it silently. This episode tells the story of the week Marla got the flu, the household nearly came apart, and what she finally understood about what “one body” in a marriage is actually supposed to mean. Not one person carrying the weight so the other doesn't have to, two people who both know what the weight is.

  • The Friday Night We Almost Let the Business Win

Beyond Sight: Money in the Dark | Financially Growing LLC

Every entrepreneur podcast talks about the grind. Almost none of them talk about the person standing in the doorway while you grind. Mark had been working every night for six months, "just until launch." Julie had quietly stopped waiting weeks before either of them said it out loud. This episode is about the operating principle that governs every decision in my own business too: business can fail. Marriage cannot. Not a slogan, a policy, with a cutoff time and a protected date night attached.

  • Without Sight, Never Without a Way

Beyond Sight: Money in the Dark - Financially Growing LLC

Carol used to run her finances like a small business, spreadsheets, paper statements, every bill on time. After a macular degeneration diagnosis, the people who loved her started "helping", until helping quietly became handling, and

Carol's independence disappeared one well-meaning decision at a time. This is the story of the late fee that finally cracked it open, and the framework behind everything I build for accessibility: Vision Before Sight. Clarity of purpose survives even when circumstance changes.

  • The Diploma That Couldn't Balance a Checkbook

Tasha did everything right. Honor roll every semester, scholarship offers, the kid every relative brags about. Then a phone call at 11:40pm, a declined card, a stack of overdraft fees, and a son who's never once had to track a running balance in his life.

This episode is about the eighth skill: the ongoing money conversation almost no school, and almost no family, ever builds on purpose. It's about the locked room we don't know we're handing down, and the one text message that finally opened the door.

  • Loved First: The Mother Who Finally Stopped Earning It

Dana has spent her whole life auditioning for love, as a daughter, a wife, a mother. One ordinary Tuesday night, her eight-year-old asked her a question that cracked the whole pattern open. This is her story, and the framework it revealed: Loved First, Built Second.

    Why This Show Exists
Beyond Sight: Money in the Dark | Financially Growing LLC

Before I ever tell you about a friend, I want to tell you about a parking lot. The morning I signed my divorce papers. The same week a doctor told me my vision loss was permanent. A job lost just days before. Three losses, one month, and honestly, not even the first hard things I'd ever survived.

This episode is the why behind everything else on this show, the childhood I had to survive, the first marriage that wasn't safe either, and the decision I made completely on my own to build a floor under my life for the first time. No one showed up to rescue me. I went back to school. I built something new. This is where Loved First, Built Second actually came from.
