Das Jahr 2022 ist schon wieder Geschichte und damit geht bereits das zweite Jahr Beyond Simracing zu Ende. Den Jahreswechsel möchten wir nutzen, um mit euch auf die spannendsten und schönsten Momente aus insgesamt 572 Minuten Beyond Simracing im Jahr 2022 zurückzuschauen.
In unserer 34. Folge unterhält sich Curdt Blumenthal mit Michael Fehsenfeld. Michael Fehsenfeld hatte bisher eigentlich nicht viel mit Simracing am Hut. Er arbeitet für den deutschen Möbelhersteller Sedus. Doch seit einiger Zeit arbeitet Fehsenfeld an einer kleinen Innovation auf dem Simracing-Markt. Er designt mit seinen Kollegen die weltweit ersten echten Simracing-Möbel. Im Podcast erzählt Fehsenfeld, weshalb Sedus den Schritt in die Simracing-Szene wagte und wie es ist, sich als Außenstehender in die Simracing-Welt hineinzudenken.
In unserer 33. Folge trifft sich Curdt Blumenthal mit Rudolf Dittrich. Rudolf Dittrich hat in seiner beruflichen Laufbahn in den wichtigsten Motosportserien der Welt gearbeitet. Neben Mitarbeiten im Formel 1 Team von BMW-Williams und BMW Sauber, leitete Dittrich zuletzt sogar die DTM-Abteilung von BMW. Seit einigen Jahren beschäftigt sich Dittrich allerdings auch mit Simracing. Als Head of BMW Simracing brachte er in den vergangenen Jahren das Simracing-Programm des bayerischen Autobauers auf den Weg. Im Podcast erzählt Dittrich wie ein Formel 1 Simulator Anfang der 2000er aussah und was BMW mit dem Simracing-Programm alles erreichen möchte.
In unserer 32. Folge trifft sich Curdt Blumenthal mit Julian Oejen. Julian ist Mitgründer der 2015 gebildeten Simracing-Community „GermanSimRacing“ und hat in den letzten acht Jahren schon einiges erreicht: Gemeinsam mit seinen Kollegen hat er dabei vor allem die Discord-Welt ordentlich durcheinandergewirbelt. Über 10.000 Mitglieder tummeln sich bereits bis heute auf dem Community eigenen Server. Im Podcast erzählt Julian, wie er das geschafft hat und warum sie sich bei GermanSimRacing ganz bewusst gegen eine Vereinsgründung und für das GmbH-Konstrukt entschieden haben.

In unserer 31. Folge unterhält sich Curdt Blumenthal mit Dennis Surace. Dennis hat sich schon immer für Autos sowie Computer interessiert und hat sich 2020 den Traum vom eigenen Onlineshop für Simracing-Hardware erfüllt. Angefangen in einer Garage, entwickelte sich sein Unterfangen schnell in ein echtes Unternehmen. Im Podcast erzählt der 39-Jährige, wie seine Idee zur Wirklichkeit wurde und welche Innovationen zurzeit auf dem Simracing-Hardware-Markt schlummern.
In unserer 30. Folge spricht Curdt Blumenthal mit René Buttler. Simracing und eSports haben René um die Welt gebracht: Als Moderator hat es der 34-Jährige auf fast alle Kontinente dieser Welt geschafft. Zudem hat er für das Entwicklerstudio von rFactor2 gearbeitet und nebenbei mit Freunden ein eigenes Motorsport-Team auf die Beine gestellt. Im Podcast erklärt René, wie er das geschafft hat und warum sich Simracing-Übertragungen in Zukunft weniger am Motorsport orientieren sollten.
In unserer 29. Folge trifft sich Curdt Blumenthal mit Michael Wamser. Michael ist Geschäftsführer der Gaming-Marketingagentur Cowana, die seit 2019 mit der Organisation der SimRacing Expo betraut ist. Im Podcast erklärt der 48-Jährige, wieso die SimRacing Expo dieses Jahr nicht mehr am Nürburgring stattfindet, was es mit dem neuen Simracing-Portal „Simracing Unlimited“ auf sich hat und wieso die Simracing-Branche im Moment so floriert.
In unserer 28. Folge spricht Curdt Blumenthal mit Moritz Kranz. Moritz hat es geschafft: Nach einer Kart-Karriere, die eigentlich gar nicht so verheißungsvoll war, konnte der heute 34-Jährige sich seinen Traum von der Profi-Rennfahrer-Karriere erfüllen und an den hochkarätigsten Rennen der Welt teilnehmen. Was viele nicht wissen: Gleichzeitig gehört er zu den langjährigsten Mitgliedern der Virtual Racing Community. Im Podcast spricht der frisch gebackene Klassen-Sieger des 24-Stunden-Rennens auf dem Nürburgring, wieso er seinen Durchbruch auch der WRC zu verdanken hat und wie er es sogar in ein LMP3 Fahrzeug geschafft hat.
In unserer 27. Folge trifft sich Curdt Blumenthal mit Markus Trott. Markus ist 3D-Entwickler und arbeitet in seiner Freizeit an selbst erstellten Simracing Fahrzeug- und Streckenmodellen. Unter dem Künstlernamen "Haunetal1990" ist er als sogenannter Modder in der Simracing-Szene bekannt geworden. Im Podcast gibt Trott spannende Einblicke in den Entwicklungsprozess seiner Werke und erklärt, wie er es geschafft hat, original lizenzierte Boliden in die Simulation rFactor2 zu bringen.
In unserer 26. Folge unterhält sich Curdt Blumenthal mit Marcus Jirak. Marcus war jahrelang Vorstandsvorsitzender von Virtual Racing und kennt die Geschichte der deutschen Simracing-Szene von der Pike auf. In einer sehr ehrlichen und offenen Podcastfolge von Beyond Simracing berichtet der 44-Jährige über die Konkurrenz zwischen Communitys und warum er sein Amt nach jahrelangem Einsatz letztlich niederlegte.
