The bible gives us a great example of how to treat our faith and that is to train it in a way that an athlete trains for a race. Unfortunately, we only work on our faith for an hour or so a week and maybe something occasionally during the week. Then we are frustrated when we don't see the results in our life like it is God's fault...but we don't even really know him!
Imagine how different our relationships would look, how much success we would experience, how different our lives would look altogether if we treated our relationship with God how an athlete trains for the sport they are in!
Join me this week for this basic, yet profound discussion!
We've reached the point in the new year when an estimated 80% of people have already given up on those New Year resolutions. Wait...what?! Already?! What causes us our biggest obstacle to change? The problem is that we are not rooted in our correct identities.
Most often we are connected and identify with our issues and things that have happened to us. Most of us struggle with things from our childhood that were traumatic and allowed those items define us and become our identity.
But God...the truth is that we are God's masterpiece that He created in His image! This is our identity and we need to walk in it!
Listen to this episode for more information on getting rooted in your correct and true identity and the real freedom it will bring you!
In the last Episode of this series I lay out the most important foundational principle for achieving where you want to be in five years...and that is connecting with and having a close relationship with Jesus! We can set whatever goals we want, and the bible tells us that we can make our plans, but the Lord directs our steps. So if you want to achieve the vision that you are setting for where you want to be, you will need to strengthen the relationship you have with Jesus and understand His plans and the part He wants you to play in those plans.
I also bring another challenge for you that will drive you to think of your relationship and what it should look like differently than you've ever thought of it before.
Enjoy the show!
We all hate going through a crisis, but we also hate change. As we continue the discussion on where you want to be in five years, it will require some changes, and crisis most times force us to make changes.
You may be facing a real life crisis right now, and it is imperative to see the value in it and to not let it go to waste and it allow the crisis to drive change now.
For those that are not facing a real life crisis, but you want to make some changes to achieve where you want to be in five years, it may be necessary to manufacture a crisis in your mind to force those changes. This is practical and valuable, because even Jesus did this.
Join me as I continue this discussion this week!
As we go into the new year, we all have goals we want to accomplish in the next year. I want to challenge you to think of where you want to be in five years. Is the current direction taking you where you want to be? If not, what needs to change so that you are where you want to be?
This series will challenge you to think differently about your goals and how you go about accomplishing this year!
Joining me on the show today is my friend Shena Fuentes. We discuss many things during our conversation that people from every walk of life can benefit from.
Topics we discuss are:
- Fear being the primary weapon used by the enemy because God did not create us with a spirit of fear.
- The importance of a correct relationship with Jesus that is not rooted in fear and condemnation...which unfortunately is how many people's relationships with God have started.
- The value of good discipleship.
These are just a few of the topics we address. I hope that you enjoy the show!
