Ale & Karys’ Bio

Alejandro and Karys were born in Mexico and Puerto Rico, respectively.

They met at Yale during their MBA studies and married two years after graduating. They first started working together in an entrepreneurial spirit in 2018 after a birthday gift from Ale to Karys in the form of a deed to a corporation that named them equal partners. 

Time during covid provided them with new insights about what they wanted to do with their life, and after one of their disagreements about Ale’s choice of bedtime clothing, Ale had the idea for Sir Cadian, a sleepwear brand that would cater to women/SO for the style and looks, and that would cater to the men for the comfort and soft fabrics. Adam Hepker has spent three seasons as the lead assistant coach for the OUAZ men's basketball program after taking the position to help build the program before the start of the 2017-18 season. Hepker is no stranger to the NAIA having spent 14 seasons as a coach or a player within the national organization. During that time, Hepker teams have reached the NAIA National Championship eight times.

As a player, Hepker was a four-year starter at MNU from 2004-2008. During those four years, MNU won 115 games and made four trips to the NAIA National Championship. Those runs included three straight trips to the Fab Four and winning the 2007 title with Hepker being named the tournament's Most Valuable Player. Hepker was a Second Team All-American as a sophomore and a First Team All-American as a junior and senior, as well the Heart of America Conference Player of the Year his junior and senior seasons.

Hepker would continue his playing career professionally overseas for the Cocoon Baskets Weiden in Weiden, Germany for one season in 2008-2009.

Hepker graduated from MidAmerica Nazarene in 2008 with a degree in History and Government Education. Adam and his wife Amy have two daughters, Brenley and Brooklyn, and a son, Bryson.

Chris Hull is the founder and Chief Product Officer of Otus, a Chicago-based Edtech company

that centralizes work for educators, students and their families, eliminating the chaos of multiple

systems.

Chris grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and attended New Trier High School, where he poured

most of his energy into playing basketball and other sports. He attended Denison University,

where Chris continued to play basketball and became inspired by his professors to pursue

teaching. 

In 2010, he co-wrote a grant to bring one device to every student in the Social Studies

department. On leap day in February of 2012, the idea for Otus was born.

Chris was nominated in 2016 for NSBA’s ‘20 to Watch' EdTech Leader, and has been

showcased in the Chicago Tribune's Blue Sky Innovation series. He has presented at a variety

of summits and conferences.  In 2016 Otus was nominated for two Codie awards.

Scott is a proven connector who has spent the last 6 years in the sports technology space. He was a former D1 athlete at the University of South Alabama where he had the opportunity to start their  football program in 2009. Scott started out as an Account Executive in a couple different verticals before taking a dive into building a start-up. Scott is now overseeing business development at Chek while also hosting a podcast ChekPoint which is telling the stories of influential leaders in and around the sports industry!

As of last year Scott and his wife have been traveling around the country in their 30 ft travel trailer and working remotely. He is currently living in Cape Cod, MA due to Covid and enjoys fishing, hiking and really anything outdoors for fun!
