Chaunté is the story of determination, perseverance, and strength.  Not only is Chaunté a mother of three, a wife and a finance professional; she is also a professional athlete. She is a 4-time Olympian, an American Record Holder, a 3-Time World Championship medalist, and 12 times US National Champion.

As a public speaker, Chaunté is animated, entertaining, and humorous. Her infectious personality is electrifying and she wins with an “I can do anything attitude.”

Doc played in the National Football League for nine years. He helped the Washington Redskins (now the Washington Commanders) earn a Super Bowl championship victory in 1983.

Doc is a founder of ProView – a media enterprise featuring interviews and conversations with legendary sports figures and professional athletes.

#065: In this episode of Beyond the Culture, Dr. Walker speaks with Former NFL player JJ Birden. 

JJ. Birden was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 8th round of the 1988 NFL Draft. He played in 9 NFL seasons for the Kansas City Chiefs and Atlanta Falcons.

Birden played at the University of Oregon. In 2010, Birden was inducted Oregon's Athletic Hall of Fame as Track and Field athlete.

Birden travels extensively as a motivational and opportunity speaker and trainer for companies large and small; team building seminars, as well as youth group life skill development meetings.

JJ is a best-selling author of When Opportunity Knocks: 8 Surefire Ways to Take Advantage. Birden and his wife Raina have three children and five adopted children.

#064: In this episode of Beyond the Culture, Dr. Walker speaks with the 1982 NCAA National Finalist Cheyney State College Lady Wolves . 
 
 On March 28th 1982 Cheyney State College (now Cheyney University) Lady Wolves basketball team coached by HOF coach C. Vivian Stringer, laced up their shoes to play the Lady Techsters of Louisiana Tech University. 

It was an historic night. It was the first ever NCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Championship Game. It was the first and only time that a HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and University) competed in an NCAA Division One final four and championship game.

It was the first time an all-Black women’s team with all-Black coaching staff played for a Division 1 national title.

 It's been 40 years since that momentous occasion. And 40 years later, herstory can never be erased.

On this episode of Beyond the Culture, I have the esteemed honor. To have a conversation with several members of that 1982 team. The members of the team who are here tonight are:
