In John Lennon’s famous song Beautiful Boy, he sings the words, “Life is what happens to you While you're busy making other plans.”
I feel similarly when I look back and think about the trajectory of my business journey – there have been so many plot twists that happened while I was making other plans.
When your reality looks different than you thought it would, it can be really hard! It can feel extremely uncomfortable. And the thoughts and feelings we have about what life and business look like compared to what we THINK it should look like can make it really tough to TRUST THE PROCESS. And so, I thought I’d share with you some of the major plot twists that have happened through the course of my years as a creative entrepreneur and coach, and why I’m so glad they did.
On this episode, you’ll learn:

The truth: we all believe lies. They impact every area of our lives: from our relationship with ourselves to our marriage relationships and friendships, parenting, business, faith, dreams and goals. The problem is that these lies are hard to see for ourselves. This is true especially if we've been believing them for a long time. And if we can't see them, we have little hope of getting rid of them.
In this episode I'm sharing Two Truths and a Lie - a tool I've created to help you uncover the lies you're believing so that you can live BEYOND them.
You'll learn:
• How lies are the root of so much unnecessary pain and suffering
• Why we believe things that aren't true
• The questions to ask to uncover a lie
• How to replace a lie with truth, for good

Proverbs 4:23 NCV says "Be careful what you think because your thoughts run your life." At an intellectual level, we understand the importance of our thinking and the power of our mindset, but at a personal, soul level, we're not so sure. In the middle of the everyday, how does this work? How do your thoughts run your life? And what can you do about it? In this episode we're breaking down two key pieces of truth anchored inside this passage. We were created with the agency, the free will to shape our thinking, and it may be the greatest gift we have. Understanding this gift and our God-given ability to steward our thought life is key to changing our lives, to feeling better and living more fully.
Today's episode is an encore presentation of one of Beyond Happy's most downloaded episodes. It originally aired in early 2021.
In this episode, you'll learn:
• The relationship between what you think, how you feel and what you do
• Why your thoughts are so powerful
• The essential piece we often leave out when trying to make change in our lives
• Why the freedom to co-create your life may be your greatest gift
• What it looks like to steward your thoughts

Do you ever get to the end of a busy day or week and feel like you got nothing done? How is that even possible? For moms building businesses and careers while raising families, the struggle is real. We constantly feel behind, even when it seems like we're always on the go. The reality for many of us is that we are really busy without being very productive. We tend to think that these terms are synonymous, but they are not. Being busy does not equal being productive. On this episode we're talking about the differences between being busy and being productive and five reasons you may feel busy but not be productive.

Do you ever fear that you're missing out on your own life? Maybe you imagine that near the end of your days, you'll look back and realize you were focused on all the wrong things. Maybe you worry that your priorities are off, you're too busy or rushed and are just going through the motions. For you, maybe it's a fear that pursuing a career or growing a business means you'll miss out on your kids' childhoods. Missing out on what matters most is a real fear - one that many working moms share with me. They just want to do the right thing. They want to live full, purpose-driven and productive lives that they are also present for. But sometimes, that feels really hard to achieve. In this episode of Beyond Happy, I'm sharing a powerful tool that uses your imagination to tap into the powerful perspective of another person - 75-year-old YOU. With 5 prompts to guide you through the exercise, you'll access this older, more experienced version of you to better understand where you are in your life right now with greater wisdom, compassion and grace.

Micro changes, macro results.
That's how I think about habits. They don't have to be huge, overwhelming and time-consuming in order to be life-changing. Often, the little things, done consistently, are the big things. This is because they build on each other – they compound.
Today we’re talking about life-changing habits. These are powerful rituals that either I have in place in my own life as a mom and entrepreneur, ones that have been really helpful and effective for my clients, or a combination of both. I named this episode 5 Habits that can fix 80% of your problems because I’ve found that these 5 have a compound effect – meaning, the benefit they bring to your days and to your life is so much greater than the time and energy they take to implement.
On this episode, you'll learn about these powerful habits:
• Create non-negotiable morning anchors
• Get enough rest
• Plan out your day ahead of time
• Do the thing you want to do LEAST today, FIRST

Do you find yourself apologizing constantly? Saying you're sorry for something you've done and want to take responsibility for is one thing, but often, we are apologizing for things that don't actually require apologies. The problem? Over-apologizing can undermine your authority and competence, and it is a reflection of the relationship you have with yourself.
In this episode, we're talking about why, especially as women, we tend to apologize when it's not necessary. We're talking about these specific situations where an apology just isn't helpful or useful:
• Being human
• Having boundaries
• Saying no
• Being vulnerable and sharing your heart
• Being tired
• Asking questions
• Asking for what you need
