Episode 333 — The Nuremberg Sky Battle: Did UFOs Fight Over Germany in 1561?

On April 14th, 1561, residents of Nuremberg witnessed something extraordinary in the early morning sky.

According to a surviving illustrated account created by printer Hans Glaser, the sky filled with strange spheres, crosses, crescents, and enormous cylindrical objects. Some appeared to emerge from larger objects, others moved toward one another as if engaged in battle, and after more than an hour, objects reportedly fell toward the ground through clouds of smoke. Then, an enormous black spear-like shape appeared across the sky.

More than 465 years later, we're still trying to figure out what they actually saw.
