This week we're digging into the recent article in cyclingnews.com about the relegation system in professional cycling, and specifically Jonathan Vaughters' comments in it regarding his disdain for the system. We'll then turn our attention to Vaughters' team, EF Education, who are the subject of the documentary film "Enter the Slipstream", which we watched and will review. Lastly, we're digging into Season 1 of HBO's "The Wire", a seminal early-aughts TV series which is widely regarded as one of the best shows of all time. This segment is the first of a six-episode arc we'll be doing over the next six weeks, taking one segment per show to discuss each of the five seasons, plus a final segment in which we'll recap the show as a whole and its cultural importance, as well as choosing our favorite scenes, characters and plot lines. And always, we'll take a ride in the Broom Wagon.
