The S&P 500 ended the year down 18%. That is the largest loss since 2008. Here’s the kicker. Looking at ANY year since 1940 with a larger decline, you see 1974, 2002, and 2008. Unfortunately, 2023 is shaping up to be significantly worse. Moreover, it looks like 2023 might be the year that war-related things really kick off. I guess we’ll see, but things sure don’t look good at the moment. So, we’ll close out the year by talking about this week’s economic nonsense, increased tensions, and a few pieces of advice for 2023.
