This episode is a bit different. Instead of a guest interview, I wanted to give you an honest update on where things are at with the podcast, with me personally, and with Ezra. I've recently started a new job which means I'm back to the 9 to 5 grind, and I wanted to be transparent about what that means for Beyond the Tube and how we're navigating it together.
We're also diving into what's been happening with Ezra lately. He's doing really well and we've moved to an overnight feeding schedule to give him space to explore eating during the day. But we've hit some challenges along the way, particularly with his Mickey button. I've been working closely with Avanos and our local rep to address some faulty buttons, and I'm sharing what we've learned about keeping those batch numbers.
One thing that's really stood out to me is how aware Ezra is of his own body and what's happening with his tube. We're challenging some of the medical assumptions about what kids should and shouldn't be able to feel, and I'm making a case for truly listening to what our children are telling us. We're also trialling a mini button to see if it makes a difference.
I hope you find something useful or reassuring in this update.
