As children grow, they strongly adhere to Familiar patterns and routine to feel safe and comfortable. This applies to the positive and the negative patterns: Kissing and Hugging goodnight, bedtime stories, mum and dad arguing and fighting, shouting, playtime, being alone, having no money, alcoholism, etc. These are the Familiar patters we resort to later in life by default, unless we are aware of them and intentionally create and make new, healthy habits Familiar.
