The gang turn to the stars as they review sci-fi drama Ad Astra, starring Brad Pitt, and venture into the wide world of Space Movies.

The gang talk Gelflings and Skeksis as they review The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, the fantasy adventure series from Netflix based on Jim Henson's 1982 film, The Dark Crystal. They also discuss puppets and the likes of The Muppets and Sesame Street.

Are there TV showrunners who have left their fingerprints all over their portfolio of TV series? The gang discusses the meaning of the term "TV Auteur", and brings up some of their favourites: Aaron Sorkin, Shonda Rhimes, Glen A Larson, Michael Schurr, and Bryan Fuller.

Skip Intro closes off their Malaysian Film Week with a look at "M for Malaysia", the documentary following Malaysia's 14th General Elections, and the road it took to get there. Lynn and Iain invite filmmakers Ineza Roussille and Dian Lee into the studios to talk about their film, then share their thoughts in their review. M for Malaysia is in selected cinemas now. Skip Intro's week-long celebration of Malaysian films continues as Bahir and Iain interview Gavin Yap, co-writer and co-director of Dendam Pontianak, to discuss the film's influences, bringing traditional horror elements to screen while shooting in modern day Malaysia, and working with co-director Glen Goei in this Malaysian-Singaporean production.

The gang dive into Makoto Shinkai's latest offering, Weathering With You, a Japanese animated romantic fantasy drama film, and the first from the director since his 2016 box office hit, Your Name. This inspires a discussion around devastating anime movie experiences, from the likes of The Grave of the Fireflies and A Silent Voice.

As the Japanese Film Festival 2019 rolls into our cinemas this week, the gang take a look at the films on offer, and review a couple of them that caught their eye: "Lying to Mom" and "Brave Father Online: Our Story of Final Fantasy XIV".
