Penang's Damn Dirty Apes was at the forefront of a phenomenal growth in instrumental rock music in the early noughties. The band's penchant for writing walls of sound sparked a trend of bands jumping on the post rock bandwagon soon after. A decade later the band is still at it, moving forward after their critically acclaimed records Valve State Dreams & the epic Ape Kill Ape.
