Full disclosure: this episode was recorded prior to our current Coronavirus-induced shutdowns and quarantines. The message, however, is perhaps more relevant now.
Rhetorical question: If you’re not willing to bet on yourself, why should anyone else be willing to bet on you?
Our happiness and success (individually defined) is nobody else’s responsibility. It is ours and ours alone.
If we’re not willing to take the necessary steps to make it happen, how can we expect to arrive at our desired destinations?
We can’t.
So the critical lesson becomes, continue to bet on – and invest in – yourself. This holds true for personal growth, relationships, business, fitness or health endeavors, anything!
Continue to learn. Read, take online classes, go to workshops. Develop skills. Become as useful as humanly possible. But not because you’re lacking anything… Do it because you’re unleashing the best version of you.
TUNE IN for a story about a business that didn’t want to invest in itself, the message that sends to clients, and a caution about the possible downside to doing nothing but investing in yourself (Is there a point of diminishing returns?)
