Clelsea and Jessica talk about how Bibic originated in 1972 to support children with brain injuries. Now Bibic supports many children with a wide range of hidden disabilities. Both Chelsea and Jessica come from a teaching background and talk about the challenges schools are having due to the national cuts and how they are meeting many families that have children that are stuck in limbo, being too academically bright for special schools but mainstream schools not being able to accommodate their social and sensory challenges, so these children have no school placement. They both talk about Bibic’s ethos and how they support the whole family and how families from all over the UK are coming to Bibic as there is no where else offering this level of support, they also see families from Europe. Chelsea has developed seminars and courses for parents as part of Bibic’s supporting the parents plan.
