three are constant cravings which can be reigned in only by the transforming

the pursuit of money and wealthContentment comes from

wanting what you already have – but a love for money always produces a

discontented personWealth can attract human

leeches (vs 11), who give the rich man no peace.  This is true in Christian

circles too – wealthy Christians are pestered by numerous Christian

organizations who all need moneyWealth can be hoarded and

actually harm the owner (vs 13).  It

harms by:Becoming unproductive (ala

Luke 19)Becoming a pre-occupation

by the owner (does not focus on God’s purposes for business, but on the wealth

itself – for example, keeping it safe)Becoming lost – examples:

laborWhen God gives us wealth –

be content with it and enjoy it – this is a gift from GodWe don’t worry when we’re
