Welcome back to Bible Chapter by Chapter, where we walk carefully and faithfully through God’s Word one chapter at a time.
In Luke Chapter 2, we saw the Savior enter the world quietly. Promises were fulfilled through humility, obedience, and long waiting. Jesus grew in wisdom and favor, largely unnoticed, preparing for the work ahead.
Now in Luke Chapter 3, the story shifts dramatically. The silence breaks again, not in a temple or palace, but in the wilderness. John the Baptist steps forward with a message of repentance, urgency, and preparation. The long-awaited draws near as Jesus emerges from private life into public ministry, and Luke anchors it all in real history by naming rulers, regions, and leaders.
In this episode, we pray, read the full chapter from the World English Bible (WEB), and then walk through a detailed breakdown of what Luke is showing us, including how this chapter connects across Scripture.

Repentance that changes how we live (Luke 3:7–14): fruit worthy of repentance, practical obedience, integrity, and compassion
