  • THE DOCTRINE OF NEGATIVE VOLITION. PART 7

The Doctrine of Negative Volition, Part 7.

    Friday, May 16, 2008

“Said” - Qal imperative - amar = Samuel actually said a lot more to Saul than what we have here.
“Why” - lammah = a very strong interrogative or question, a very strong exclamation.

    1. When discipline becomes intensified for the believer who has negative volition toward doctrine, he becomes very selfish and very unpleasant to be around.

    2. The believer who has negative volition toward doctrine also lacks compassion and love for others. He does not share your enthusiasms; he has no capacity for love or friendship.

    3. The believer who has negative volition toward doctrine is also used by Satan to hinder the pastor from his academic responsibilities.

    a. 1JO 1:9 (homologeo)
    b. Repent (metanoia), REV 3:19
    c. EPH 4:23 (soul-breathing)

    a. Exposure on a consistent basis to doctrine
    b. Setting aside of the details of life
    c. Intensification and concentration toward a crash diet of BD.

Saul is very blasphemous; the Lord has not departed from Saul, Saul has departed from the Lord.

If God had deserted Saul and would not answer him by prophets, why is he expecting answers from Samuel who was a prophet?

The believer who has negative volition toward doctrine lacks logic, reason, and common sense.

Saul actually thought he could fool God and receive divine counsel from a witch and a dead prophet.

May make known - Hiphil infinitive - yada = to teach me.

If the Lord has departed from you and I am with the Lord, why ask me or why disturb me?

Sloppy thinking and poor manners are a part of NVTD.

    1. Saul’s main problem is negative volition toward doctrine and therefore he has become an enemy of God.

Moichalis = having an intimate relationship with God as in a marriage, but those who relapse into the cosmic system are said to commit adultery or play the harlot, Eze 16, faithlessness to God.

Reversionism is not sinning; it is a spiritual state or a lifestyle that the believer who has negative volition toward doctrine lives in.

    2. Reversionism is not the same as carnality.
    3. The stages of negative volition toward doctrine:
    a. Lack of interest toward doctrine.
    b. Reaction toward doctrine or the communicator.
    c. Mental attitude sins; rejection of EPH 5:18, EPH 4:23.

    4. Arrogance is the lifestyle of the believer who has negative volition toward doctrine resulting in discouragement, boredom, self-pity, loneliness, frustration, fear, and insecurity.
    5. The believer who has negative volition toward doctrine lives in the frantic search for happiness.

If the OSN is leaning toward its strength then there is a trend toward asceticism, legalistic so-called victorious living, supernatural experiences, human good, joining the signs and wonders crowd.

If the OSN is leaning toward its weakness then there is a trend toward immorality, drunkenness, fornication, partying, etc.

    6. Another stage of reversionism for the believer who has negative volition toward doctrine is the reap what you sow stage or the operation boomerang.

The more that Saul chased David around and the more that David was kind and delivered him, the more intense became Saul’s jealousy, vindictiveness, implacability.

    7. The emotional revolt of the soul.

The emotion is the feminine part of the soul, the mentality is the masculine part. Emotions are designed to respond to one’s thinking and not to revolt and call the shots.

If there is no free will, there is no God, because there is no love, no justice, no +R, no integrity.

    8. The next stage of reversionism is bondage to the details of life, which means you are too busy for Bible teaching.

This stage can be as subtle as apathy toward doctrine, indifference toward doctrine, personality hang-ups with the pastor, personality hang-ups with certain members of the congregation.

    9. The mataiotes stage = the vacuum opens up and draws in doctrines of demons.

There comes a time in the life of every believer when he will face a crisis, a disaster, a set of adverse circumstances which demand something greater than what he has from human resources.

Then when the crisis arrives, doctrine in the soul serves as a red alert system and allows the person to face adversity and glorify God.

Every believer has one P-T and when the P-T communicates BD in this manner, that BD is stored in the human spirit for the day of adversity, or the day of evil.

1SA 28:18 Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, - KJV

This is the sin unto death being administered to Saul and his army.

2SA 1:19 “Your beauty, O Israel, is slain on your high places! How have the mighty fallen!”

The self-centeredness of Saul immediately surfaced and he faints from shock.

The first of these is a soulish reason; he was not prepared for disaster in his soul.

The MAS of fear is what controls the self-consciousness.

Very afraid - meod - jare = to be extremely frightened.

JER 49:23 For they have heard bad news; They are disheartened. There is anxiety by the sea, It cannot be calmed.

PRO 8:36 “But he who sins against me injures himself; All those who hate me love death.”

The second reason was a physical reason.
Being very self-centered and selfish he was upset and couldn’t eat properly.

Loss of physical strength many times illustrates the spiritual condition.

  • THE DOCTRINE OF NEGATIVE VOLITION. PART 6

The Doctrine of Negative Volition, Part 6.

    Thursday, May 15, 2008

When God interrupts anything in life it gives those involved the chance to think.

Catastrophe or disaster is a means to awaken people out of their spiritual sleep and disaster.

2CO 13:5 Test yourselves to see if you are in the doctrinal life; examine yourselves!

AMO 3:6-7 If a calamity occurs in a city has not the Lord done it? Surely the Lord God does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets [in the Church-age, His pastor-teachers].

1TI 5:17 - working hard to the point of exhaustion in the study of the word and the teaching of doctrine.
PRO 16:4 The Lord has made everything for its own purpose, Even the wicked for the day of evil.

ISA 45:6b-7 I am the Lord, and there is no other, The One forming light and creating darkness, Causing well-being and creating calamity; I am the Lord who does all these.

It is imperative therefore that God interrupts our lives from time to time to wake us up.

God the Son does it in REV 3:20 revealed by the phrase “by knocking at the door of our souls.”

If our life is going to be free from dramatic divine interruptions, it is imperative that we stick with Bible doctrine.

If there is one thing that the believer minus doctrine is not prepared for, it is sudden disaster.

The souls and spirits of those who are dead cannot communicate with the living or return from the dead,
    2SA 12:23; LUK 16:27-31.

2SA 12:22-23 And he said, “While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept; for I said, ‘Who knows, the Lord may be gracious to me, that the child may live. But now he has died; why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.”

A pastor’s dream = to be able to come back from the dead and visit a reversionist or a backslidden believer who has lived in negative volition toward doctrine.

Saul finally recognizes the Old Testament authority of Samuel.

Authority is a creation of God. Authority involves a person who is willing to take responsibility for the lives of others.

ACT 23:5 for it is written, “You shall not speak evil of a ruler of your people.”
2PE 2:10 They indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority. Daring, self-willed, they do not tremble when they revile angelic majesties.

Authority demands moral courage as well as honesty, integrity, fairness to all.

Just as we have authority in the government, and in business, and in all areas of life, we have spiritual authority.

You must learn to live under authority whether you like the authority or not.

The only issue between you and your pastor =
“Are you learning doctrine from him or not?”

The means by which you do so is “thought,” which we call Bible doctrine.

You can be an expert by using your IQ to study a certain subject, but you cannot be an expert in the spiritual realm by studying on your own.

You will never ever make it in life without recognition of the fact that all of us live under a system of authority.

ACT 20:28 - the Holy Spirit assigns a certain pastor to a certain congregation.
1PE 5:3 - there are certain believers who are allotted or assigned to a certain pastor.

As a part of your positive volition toward doctrine rather than negative volition toward doctrine, the believer needs to recognize the principle of spiritual authority in the pastor-teacher.

The pastor has received this authority from the Lord, just as Archippus received a ministry from the Lord inCOL 4:17.

The pastor is called “your messenger” just as Epaphroditus was the right pastor-teacher to the Philippians inPHI 2:25, and was called “their messenger.”

The pastor is given to you from God on “your behalf” just as Epaphras, who was the right pastor teacher of Colosse, in COL 1:17 was called the servant of Christ on “their behalf.”

The issue is not your pastor’s personality, but whether or not he is your right pastor and whether or not you are learning doctrine from him.

While the positive believer advances to maturity under the privacy of his priesthood, and produces divine good from his ambassadorship, he cannot continue his momentum apart from authority.

Christian freedom is like any other kind of freedom, it is always a part of a structure which includes not only the freedom but privacy, property, and authority.

Freedom is a part of a structure, and like every structure that is wonderful, it is based upon a system of authority.

The canon of scripture is the book on all systems of authority: social, civil, personal, and spiritual.

The purpose of this gift is the proper communication and teaching of doctrine, and the protection of the privacy of the congregation.

Having absolute authority does not mean having absolute control.

Absolute authority often means taking responsibility for things which are not your fault.

The pastor’s authority extends to teaching doctrine and enforcing policy in the local church; that is his professional function.

The freedom that you have from establishment plus the freedom you have from being a Royal Priest means that you have equal privilege and equal opportunity to grow in the “presence of all the saints.”

EPH 3:18 That you may be able to comprehend in the presence of all the saints what is the breath and length and height and depth,

Freedom plus equal privilege and equal opportunity equals inequality. Whatever you do, when freedom is present, freedom creates inequality. This means that with PVTD you advance to the common objective, even though you may be at a different stage of growth than the person around you.

The whole point is that we are to tolerate each other.
We are to respect the privacy of each other.

We are to love each other with impersonal love so that each one of us can use his freedom of the priesthood and his opportunity to create the inequalities in time which are transferred to inequalities in heaven.

Your motivation must come from your inner resources; it is what you think that counts, not what I say. 1TI 5:17let the elders who rule well [honorably - RFHC] be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who work hard at preaching and teaching.

1CO 16:15-16 Now I urge you brethren concerning those who have devoted themselves to the ministry that you submit to such men.
1TH 5:12-13 We request of you brethren [Royal Family], that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you in the Lord and give you instruction, And that you esteem them very highly in agape love because of their work.
REV 2:7 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.

Saul had everything going for him, and he lost it all and died because he failed to recognize the authority of B.D. and of his Bible teacher, 1CH 10:13-14.

    1. Even in backsliding Saul recognizes the authority of the one who communicated doctrine in his lifetime.
    2. The absence of doctrine in Saul’s life has caused him to be humbled and prostrate himself on the ground.

    3. The backslider seeks help from doctrine after many years of rejecting doctrine.
    4. It’s possible for a believer to come to doctrine when it’s too late.
    5. Those who reject doctrine are always ready to inconvenience others to wave the magic wand for them.

  • THE DOCTRINE OF NEGATIVE VOLITION. PART 5

    Negative Volition, Part 5.

    Wednesday, May 14, 2008

He used part of his staff to find witches, he used his army to chase David, he uses the Lord’s name to get to the woman, and uses the woman to get what he wants.

EXO 20:7 “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.”

There are two areas the backslider uses... people and God.

    1. This woman is demon possessed, and for a person to be demon possessed they must surrender their body to demons.
    2. You cannot effectively witness to a demon possessed person until the demon is removed.

    3. The witch of Endor believes the solemn promise or the vow of Saul.
    4. The promise of Saul is no greater than the character of Saul.

We have two liars and they both deserve each other.

Only God’s word, Bible Doctrine, is the opposite of the satanic function of lying or living in a lie.

    1JO 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;

Saul came in disguise; the woman is already disguising herself. And God fakes them both out.
Saul was asleep in the congregation when Samuel taught about Gideon or Saul was absent from the congregation.

As a result when he needed doctrine the most he didn’t have it.

Saul is standing on the very spot that the story of Gideon took place. The very spot where 22,000 cowards lapped the water, while they dropped both knees and revealed their selfishness and lack of military training, is the very spot Saul is standing on.

Instead of being a coward himself he should have thought about the 22,000 that freaked out in Gideon’s army.

Saul could have also thought of the next 10 thousand men after that who failed the divine test, with the exception of 300 men.

The concentration on the water represents concentration on the details of life or the necessities of life.

300 men will think like soldiers while 9,700 men will act their part, untrained and unprepared.

He could have thought how Gideon and 300 men went up against 135,000 Arabs.

The tools of our trade aren’t for marketing or manipulation, but they are for demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture.

If Saul had simply remembered the history or the doctrine pertaining to Gideon he would have been victorious.

Satan is a liar and he lives by the lie.
    He functions by the lie.

Demons have one purpose and that is to distract the unbeliever from the gospel and the believer from doctrine.

Demons control the person better when the person is in a trance so the trance is designed to fill her with the demon.

Satan constantly tries to claim divine power.

The woman is now filled with the "obh" demon and his job is to impersonate the dead.

Saw - Qal imperfect - raah = she kept on looking at Samuel.

The demon is immobilized and the woman is in shock.
Cried - Qal imperfect - zaaq = a series of screams.

The demon is now forced out of the woman; she has completely and totally lost her poise; she is terrified.

What’s amusing is that the king of Israel, King Saul, who has been frightened all day is not frightened at all. Ignorance blinds you from truth, even from fear at times.

Once the dumb demon loses the control of the woman’s vocal cords he has lost the control of the seance. Deceived - piel imperfect - ramah = to cause one to be deceived; to betray.

    1. When a person becomes upset and hysterical their first reaction is to blame others.
    2. It is obvious from this question that the woman is no longer in a trance.
    3. Even though the woman is no longer demon possessed she is still upset.
    4. Once the demon is gone the woman recognizes that it is Saul.

A normal person is more intelligent than a dumb demon. She specialized in deceiving others; now she is upset that she is being deceived.

    5. The witch has now penetrated through the disguise of the king of Israel. She is now free to use the facets of her own soul.

When an unbeliever is demon possessed or when a believer is demon oppressed, which is being under demon influence, they are not normal.

    1JO 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;
The woman is now filled with the obh demon and his job is to impersonate the dead.
The man who had the legion of demons - when the demons were removed they found him, MAR 5:15...clothed and in his right mind.
    1. The departure of the demon now causes the woman to think clearly.
    2. Doctrines of demons and demon influence in a believer’s life will cause the believer to become irrational and illogical.

The Doctrine of Negative Volition. Part 4.
    Friday, May 9, 2008
Negative volition also refers to the believer who takes in doctrine until he reaches maturity but reacts to disillusion, boredom, discouragement, self-pity, frustration, or some other reactor factors in his soul, which becomes an obsession.
Saul’s reactor factor in his life was his jealousy of David.
He wound up under reverse process reversionism and the sin unto death.
Negative emotionalism describes the believer who becomes negative to doctrine.
In his emotional revolt, he uses his emotion as the criterion or the standard for everything.
Satan administers his authority by means of a great invisible host of fallen angels known as demons. In REV 12:4, Satan convinced one-third of the angels in heaven to follow him in his rebellion against God.
Satan specializes in unseen or invisible attacks.
It is when a demon possesses a man that some obvious evil comes into the picture.
Ever since Gen 6, when demons had sexual intercourse with the women on the earth, certain fallen angels have been placed in a prison, 2PE 2:4; Jude 6.
Demon influence and-or demon possession is now the order of the day.
However, free will involvement is the only way demons can operate.
The witch of Endor lived a long, long time ago in a land when human sacrifice was offered up to idols. Only a weirdo would follow such a weird god.
    1. Demon possession does not always mean abnormal behavior.
    2. God ordained capital punishment for anyone who was demon possessed in Israel, LEV 20:27.
    3. Demons are also the gods of many nations, PSA 96:5.
    4. Demonism is also the source of murder.
Satan has the power of death which he has delegated to demons when permitted to do so, 1JO 3:8; HEB 2:14-15.
Job had 10 children (7 sons and 3 daughters) and Satan had them killed by demons, JOB 1:12-19. It was some demon under Satan’s command that motivated Cain to kill Abel, 1JO 3:12; JOH 8:44. Satan was also given the opportunity of executing the sin unto death to a born-again believer in Corinth, 1CO 5:5.
We have the thorn in the flesh, 2CO 12:7, the skin cancer that came to Job in JOB 2:6-8. Many other diseases like deafness, dumbness, blindness.
Here we have a case of the obh or the ventriloquist demon. A trance means the woman has lost consciousness and the demon now speaks using the vocal chords of the unconscious person.
The dead really came back from the dead. At the end of this chapter the witch of Endor ends up being the woman of Endor.
In the battle of Giboea which was about to take place, Saul will be outsmarted and out-thought by King Achish.
He once had the Spirit of God upon him mightily, 1SA 11:6.
He was also very humble says 1SA 9:21.
The Lord anointed him king over Israel, 1SA 15:17.
In 2SA 21:6, Saul was the chosen one of the Lord.
A believer minus doctrine is dumber than an unbeliever.
    1. He can stay a backslider or reversionist until he dies the sin unto death.
    2. He can rebound and recover (as David did).
You can reap what you sow or you can reap what God sows.
Nebuchadnezzar - the disease he received from jealousy, lycanthrope disease, is acting like a wolf or an animal.
He either uses words as a smoke screen or silence. In life, people are going to tell you one thing and mean something entirely different.
What has happened to Saul in reversionism explains why many believers begin with doctrine as Saul did, sound, conservative, courageous, but they give lip service to doctrine and reversionism always changes these people.

Satan was also given the opportunity of executing the sin unto death to a born-again believer in Corinth, 1CO 5:5.

We have the thorn in the flesh, 2CO 12:7, the skin cancer that came to Job in JOB 2:6-8.

This woman had a demon named Obh (Ov) in the Hebrew.
In the Greek it is called eggastromutos (demon of the vocal chords).

    For the true use of tongues is to direct you to 1CO 14:21-22;
    ISA 28:9-11.

The apostle Paul states that when the perfect or the complete Bible comes that tongues would cease, 1CO 13:8-10.

Tongues continues as a satanic operation even through the Tribulation period, 2TH 2:7-12.

A trance means the woman has lost consciousness and the demon now speaks using the vocal chords of the unconscious person.
