  • The Burial Of Jesus Christ - John 19:31-42
This sermon examines the burial of Jesus as recorded in John 19, emphasizing that his death was a predestined act of God to provide salvation through faith alone. The text highlights the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecies, specifically that not a bone of Jesus would be broken, linking his death to the Passover lamb and the atonement for sin. The narrative addresses the theological significance of the spear thrust into Jesus' side, affirming his physical death and refuting the swoon theory. It also explores the courageous actions of Joseph of Arimathea and Nicodemus, who risked their social and religious standing to honor Jesus, demonstrating that the power of the gospel transcends fear. The message concludes by encouraging believers to trust in the finished work of Christ and to boldly share their faith, as the same saving power remains available today. • The redemption of Salvation.
Our third message in this series about salvation is going to deal with redemption. Redemption has the idea of procurement by payment of ransom. The world is a slave, a slave to sin, we are all born in the bondage of sin. In essence we are born dead. Without hope, and without the ability to change our own destiny. In our lost condition we are in bondage to our master, that master is sin. The devil holds us in bondage and moves us and makes us into what he wants before salvation. There is a great debt that is owed on your account and my account. A debt that cannot be paid by us. Jesus in His love stepped up to the auction block and has redeemed us, He has paid, in full, the debt I owed. And has purchased my salvation and made it fully available to me.

  • Pharaoh: The Picture of a Hard Heart
This sermon examines the theological and practical dangers of a hardened heart, using the life of Pharaoh in Exodus as a primary illustration. It addresses the common question of divine hardening by arguing that God revealed the pre-existing rebellion in Pharaoh's heart rather than removing his free will, emphasizing that humans consistently choose to reject revealed truth and rationalize away God's work. The message identifies key indicators of spiritual hardness, such as an inability to accept correction and a tendency to take half measures with God, which ultimately disrupts one's ability to hear the Holy Spirit. The preacher urges believers to guard against this condition by responding quickly to conviction, receiving correction with humility, and remembering God's past faithfulness to maintain a tender, responsive heart.
