Genesis (Program #54) – The Victory of the Called

We have a very positive and encouraging message today as we are going to consider the victory of the called.   Again this is from the account of Abraham.  But Abraham’s life is not always one of victory was it?

Genesis (Program #53) – The Trial of the Called Ones

Today we are going to look at the most precious experience of Abraham, a message entitled “the trial of the called ones”.   How Abraham’s life is really a picture of our own Christian walk…

Revelation (Program #9) – The Son of Man In the Midst of the Churches

The Bible is a book of Christ.  If we have eyes to see, we can see Him not only in every book of the Bible, but really on every page of the Bible.  Revelation, the final book, shows us Christ in so many aspects that we dare not overlook anything if we desire to know Him as He is presented to us in His Holy Word.

Genesis (Program #52) – Witness Lee Documentary (1905-1997)

Witness Lee, a prolific Christian teacher and writer, rest from his earthly labor and went to be with the Lord he loved on June 9, 1997.   He was 91 years old.   Witness Lee was a close co-worker of Watchman Nee in China and brought his ministry to the United States in 1962.  For the next one half hour, we will feature excerpt of a three-part memorial which took place between July 3 and 9, 1997 in Orange County, California.  Part one of this memorial was attended by over 5,000 believers in Christ in 12 meetings over 6 days.  This gathering was a continuation of semi-annual Bible training initiated by Witness Lee over 20 years ago.  Ron Kangas of Living Stream Ministry opened the training to remember and memorialize the truth of Witness Lee’s ministry, has summarized in the last 11 points:

Revelation (Program #8) – The Seven Lampstands

It has been said of the Bible that the Old Testament is a book of pictures while the New Testament is a book of captions. But one book in the New Testament is also a book of pictures, and that is Revelation.  Most of the pictures in Revelation, it turns out, are found also in the Old Testament but the view in Revelation has been enlarged. One of these pictures, that is a key to understanding this book is that of the seven golden lampstands seen in chapter 1.

Genesis (Program #51) – Living by Faith (2)

We have our second program today on a life of faith.  Our message will begin with Abraham building his second altar.  What is the significance of Abraham building altars while human society was building cities and high towers?

Revelation (Program #7) – The Local Churches

The practical revelation of the churches on the earth is a very crucial matter.  It’s a matter of the churches practically as they are expressed and seen on the earth, not the universal church globally. It’s interesting that this revelation follows in chapter 1, very closely with the matter of the Lord’s coming again. Is this coincidental or is there a purpose?

Genesis (Program #50) – Living by Faith (1)

This one should be very instructive and helpful to anyone desiring to live by faith.  We’ve seen before that we really need to look at Abraham, Isaac and Jacob collectively if we are going to get a full picture of God’s calling.

Revelation (Program #6) – Joint Partaker In the Tribulation Kingdom and Endurance Jesus

Revelation is a book that shows us the Coming of the Lord Jesus. As no other book in the Bible, it’s mentioned in the very first chapter in verse 7, “Behold, He comes with the clouds, and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him…” This verse is the subject of untold Bible studies. But just two verses later, is a verse that is often overshadowed by verse 7, yet it’s a verse that we should surely not miss if we are those who really love His Coming.

Genesis (Program #49) – The Progress in Answering God’s Calling

Our life study today is dealing with progress in answering God’s calling.  A central item in God’s call to Abraham was the necessity for him to cross a river.   What does this mean?  The explanation should take into account both literal and the spiritual significance of this.  Literally, Abraham had to cross a great river in order to go from one realm, the land of Chaldea into the realm, the good land into which God was calling him.  Spiritually speaking, this points to the reality of the experience of baptism.   Elsewhere in the Scriptures, when God’s people were to go from one realm to another, they pass through water.   Noah passed through water to get into the realm of God’s new creation.  The children of Israel passed through the water of the Red Sea and again through the water of the Jordan.  All of these may be understood and rightly as types of baptism.  When God calls us, we began in an old fallen realm.  God wants to bring us out of that realm into a realm where Christ is everything to us.  In order to make this transition by the Lord’s grace, we need so to speak to cross a river.  We need to pass through water which spiritually signifies death and resurrection.  So in summary, Abraham’s crossing the river indicates our need to go through death and resurrection in Christ signified by baptism in order to be transferred out of the realm of old creation into the realm of God’s new creation…
