Isaiah (Program #24) – Christ as the Servant of Jehovah (11)
The gospels unveil Jesus Christ coming in the flesh to mankind. This was His first coming and it was foretold in many passages of the Old Testament. As Christians today most of us are eagerly awaiting His second coming and this too was clearly alluded to in ancient Scripture such as Isaiah. But to see these prophecies clearly at times require a skillful and experienced guide. Watchman Nee and Witness Lee was such guides to the church in this age.
2 Timothy (Program #3) – The Inoculator
The apostle Paul predicted in 2 Timothy, the last of his 14 epistles, that the church would decline. And during that decline the Lord will raise up faithful man, who would inoculate the church against the decline.
Isaiah (Program #23) – Christ as the Servant of Jehovah (10)
A tremendous verse in the New Testament book of Galatians tells us “I am crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live but it is Christ who lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live in faith, the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” This is Galatians 2:20. Actually the type of this marvelous truth of the Christian life is displayed in the Old Testament book of Isaiah. Mankind in general and we specifically were all “fired” and replaced by the victorious Christ. This is the theme of this great Old Testament book of prophecy and also the theme of today’s program on the life study of the Bible.
2 Timothy (Program #2) – The Basic Factor of the Decline-Forsaking the Apostle and his Ministry
2 Timothy 1:15 contains a very short but very pungent word that describes the apostasy at the end of the apostle Paul’s life. “All those who are in Asia turned away from me.”
Today in our second life study from 2 Timothy, we are going to look at the basic factor of the decline of the church which is forsaking the apostle and his ministry.
Isaiah (Program #22) – Christ as the Servant of Jehovah (8 & 9)
Some of the most powerful imagery in Scripture is related to water; from the rive of water of life that flows from Genesis 1 all the way through Revelation 22. Water is given to us as a picture of how God conveys His very divine life to man. This picture is prominent in the book of Isaiah as well, where the water of life flows from springs, streams, fountains and wells. And all the thirsty are compelled to come to God and drink freely. Don’t miss this extraordinary life study of the Bible.
2 Timothy (Program #1) – The Divine Provisions for the Inoculation against the Decline of the Church
The spread of disease is a terrible thing, especially in the spiritual realm, in the church. But God has provided disease controller for Satan attack on the church. The title Of our life study program from 2 Timothy is the divine provisions for the inoculation against the decline of the church.
Isaiah (Program #21) – Christ as the Servant of Jehovah (7)
God’s plan for our redemption require a full and complete sacrifice for our sins and transgressions. A spotless lamb was the type in the Old Testament until the real Lamb of God would arrive on the scene to take away the sins of the people and satisfy God’s righteous demands forever. Of course, as Christians we know that Jesus Christ was such a perfect offering on our behalf. Of all the passages of Scripture that deal with the great reality of the Christian faith, none provide a perfect and poetic narrative the chapter 53 in the Old Testament book of Isaiah. This prophecy was written some seven hundred years before Christ, yet the description is awesome in its detail of Christ offering Himself for the transgression and iniquities of mankind. Stay tune for our second program on Isaiah 53 on today’s life study of the Bible.
1 Timothy (Program #12) – A Man of God
“But you, O man of God, flee these things, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, meekness. Fight the good fight of the faith; lay hold on the eternal life, to which you were called and have confessed the good confession before many witnesses.”
That was 1 Timothy 6: 11 & 12. And the title of today’s life study of Timothy program #12 is “A man of God”.
Isaiah (Program #20) – Christ as the Servant of Jehovah (6)
Friends, please listen to the words of the prophet Isaiah, spoken some seven hundred years before the coming of Christ:
“Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of Jehovah been revealed? For He grew up like a tender plant before Him, And like a root out of dry ground. He has no attracting form nor majesty that we should look upon Him, Nor beautiful appearance that we should desire Him. He was despised and forsaken of men, A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; And like one from whom men hide their faces, He was despised; and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our sicknesses, And carried our sorrows; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God and afflicted. But He was wounded because of our transgressions; He was crushed because of our iniquities; The chastening for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we have been healed. We all like sheep have gone astray; Each of us has turned to his own way, And Jehovah has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him. He was oppressed, and it was He who was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to the slaughter And like a sheep that is dumb before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth. By oppression and by judgment He was taken away; And as for His generation, who among them had the thought That He was cut off out of the land of the living For the transgression of my people to whom the stroke was due? And they assigned His grave with the wicked, But with a rich man in His death, Although He had done no violence, Nor was there any deceit in His mouth. But Jehovah was pleased to crush Him, to afflict Him with grief. When He makes Himself an offering for sin, He will see a seed, He will extend His days, And the pleasure of Jehovah will prosper in His hand. He will see the fruit of the travail of His soul, And He will be satisfied; By the knowledge of Him, the righteous One, My Servant, will make the many righteous, And He will bear their iniquities. Therefore I will divide to Him a portion with the Great, And He will divide the spoil with the Strong; Because He poured out His life unto death And was numbered with the transgressors, Yet He alone bore the sin of many And interceded for the transgressors.” A beautiful and more fitting portrait of Jesus Christ the Savior has not been written in either the New or the Old Testament. We come today to one of the most sobering yet enduring chapter ever written, Isaiah chapter 53.
1 Timothy (Program #11) – Dealing with Slaves and Money Lovers
The apostle Paul repeatedly recommended his disciple Timothy, to healthy words or healthy teachings. But we all have the experiences of seen the televangelist or hearing radio preachers that gave us the distinct sense that this was not healthy but rather was more in the realm of money loving or pride.
Today’s life study from 1Timothy chapter 6 will talk about pride and profit, connecting the different teachings with the money lovers.
