Isn’t it an irony that although books like Isaiah are so lengthy yet so seldom preached in many Christian churches. The season of Advent (and Christmas) bids us look forward in anticipation to the reappearing of the Lord. The NT writers could do so because of the relentless prophetic voices of people like Isaiah, Ezekiel, Jeremiah and all the prophets of the Hebrew Bible.

Let us not be carried away by trolls of Yuletide carousals and nugatory shopping craze. Lest we forget the Reason for the season. Lest we forget.
