We are called to a practical Christianity, that here in 1 Thessalonians 2:12 is referred to as walking worthy. The previous verse told us that the apostle had exhorted and comforted, and charged the church, to this end - to walk worthy! Most people won't witness, in spite of the fact that God promised to make believers his witnesses, and gave us the great commission. The main obstacles to witnessing consist of mere excuses. Excuses expose an unwilling heart! Get your heart right, and you will find that God has given his Holy Spirit to make you his witness! Some may be tempted to think that spiritual warfare equals mind games. While the Devil does interact with our minds, the reality is that he desires physical control. The battle that is happening for the souls of men, is a spiritual battle, with a physical battlefield. The devil wants to literally, physically, stop the gospel from being preached, and souls from being saved. How does he do that? How should we respond? The labour of the Gospel is neglected in our day. Most folks want to see the harvest, and some will even get involved in harvesting, but most folks won't touch the labour. What about you? Do you understand the labour of the gospel? Are you doing the works of the Father, or your own works?
