  • Can You Truly Be in the World But Not of the World?
    In this episode we answer the question: Can you truly be in the world but not of the world?

    You and I explore the wisdom and guidance in 1 John 2: 15 - 17:

    "Do not love the world or the things in the world. The love of the Father is not in those who love the world. For all that is in the world—the desire of the flesh, the desire of the eyes, the pride in riches—comes not from the Father but from the world. And the world and its desire are passing away, but those who do the will of God live forever."

    We also discuss 1 Timothy 6: 10 NIV:

    "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs."

  • By Following God's Word Completely Can You Avoid Suffering?
    The important question we answer in this episode is:

    Does following every Commandment, every Bible verse, and living an exemplary Christian life guarantee you will experience no suffering?

    To help answer this question we'll visit 1 Peter 5, Verse 10 and explore the Biblical guidance offered in that passage.

    We also look at other key messages in 1 Peter 5.

    In Verse 10, we're told:

    "And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."

    How can you put this passage to work in your life? We look at this question and so much more in this episode.

  • A Special Prayer for Peace in Ukraine
    In this episode you and I explore what we can do as Christians to help end the conflict in Ukraine and help the nearly 2 million refugees fleeing the war zone.

    In addition, you’ll hear a special prayer for peace that includes a plea to God to open the hearts and minds of those pursuing war to choose peace and love.
    —-

    Bible verse mentioned in this episode:

    Luke 22:42: “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but Thine be done.”
    —-

    “Ukraine Prayer for Peace” by Stephen Carter:

    Heavenly Father,

    My heart is heavy with worry and fear. I see the images of destruction and hear the anguish in the voices of those suffering the horrors of war in Ukraine.

    My mind races with questions that seemingly have no answers.

    God, please grant me the wisdom to trust in your Providence, to know there is a Divine plan, a plan I know not off, but a plan that will ultimately lead to outcomes of Your choosing.

    As Saint Francis prayed to you centuries ago,

    “Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.

    Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
    where there is injury, pardon;
    where there is doubt, faith;
    where there is despair, hope;
    where there is darkness, light;
    where there is sadness, joy.”

    Through Your Grace and Love, may those who pursue war have a change of heart and choose peace.

    May the suffering of those affected by the conflict be comforted.

    May the reality of war lead the world to embrace peace.

    And yet I know God Your wisdom is beyond our understanding. As Jesus prayed on the Mount of Olives as chronicled in Luke 22 Verse 42:

    “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but Thine be done.”

    Thank you God.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen

    Make Every Day a Day of Thanksgiving to God

    While we celebrate the holiday of Thanksgiving once a year, is it possible to make every day a day of Thanksgiving to God for the many blessings in our lives?

    In this episode I share three Bible Verses, all related to offering thanks to God every day.

    I offer commentary on how you and I can bring to life each of those Bible verses and I again share each of those verses. But with the second sharing, I invite you to really feel God’s Word, really feel His Wisdom in your body, mind, heart, and soul.

    After experiencing the power of each verse, I ask you to consider how you can apply these verses in your own life to bring you closer to God.

    The three verses for this episode are:

    “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.” 1 Chronicles 16:34;

    “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” Colossians 4:2;

    “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.

    Bible verses from Luke 6:37-38.

    37. Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

    38. Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
