I believe that the stories from our past can shape us. I’ve heard many stories, some of them were true and some of them weren’t. I read many stories, books, and even listen to stories. Many things that happened in the past can help us be better in the future or it will make us recreate the past. The past can be good or bad, but it’s up to us to see how we use the knowledge.
My mother would tell me stories about her past and all of her stories were interesting. Her stories would tell me the most, such as being humble, kind, smart, and as people would call it being the bigger person. She would sit me down and explain to me about children who didn’t have their parents or their siblings. She would do exercises with us and explain to us how thankful we should be for being where we are today.
Many things have taught me, but the most are the amazing stories that my family and the authors of the past and present tell me. When I was little I read a book about heroism and courage and then someone was being rude and bullying one of my sisters and I was there using what I learned from the book to help be there for my sister. For me family is very important and with the stories of my past to shape me I have learned to protect, talk to them, and care for my family.
I still use the stories that I learned for everyday life and I’m proud of it. When I meet new people I use my courage to talk to them, I use my kindness to be friends with them, and I use my generosity to help them with anything they need. The stories I heard and read made me the person I am today, but sometimes I can share my stories and lessons with others and like that you can make a difference in somebody else's life. I believe the stories that you hear and read will help you become a better person.
