  • Fruit of Resentment | BPS9 E09

Title: The Fruit of Resentment: When the Wound Festers
    Anchor Text: 1 Peter 2:1
    Contemporary Quote:
*"Resentment is like setting yourself on fire and hoping the other person dies of smoke inhalation." — Saint Augustine

    Resentment in leadership manifests as:

    • Passive-aggressiveness toward authority.
    • Cold detachment in relationships.
    • A growing sense of injustice and entitlement.

    Ask yourself:

    • Is there unspoken resentment in my heart—toward a leader, a friend, a system, or even God?
    • Am I isolating myself emotionally while appearing present in service?

Today, choose the path of release. Name the resentment. Surrender it to God. Reconciliation may not be immediate, but healing can start now.

  • Fruit of Malice | BPS9 E08

Title: The Fruit of Malice: When Unforgiveness Turns Strategic
    Anchor Text: Ephesians 4:31
    Contemporary Quote:
*"Bitterness is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die." — Nelson Mandela; Saint Augustine, etc.

Leaders who act with malice often:

    • Exploit systems to harm others subtly.
    • Rationalize vengeance as justice.
    • Mask hostility with political or spiritual language.

Malice leads to toxic leadership cultures, broken trust, and divisive ministries.

    Ask yourself:

    • Are there people you have “written off” in your heart?
    • Have you used position or influence to harm rather than heal?

Today, release that malice. Ask the Holy Spirit to search your motives. Choose to forgive, not because they deserve it, but because you were forgiven (Ephesians 4:31-32).

  • Fruit of Offense | BPS9 E07

Title: The Fruit of Offense: The Seed of Unforgiveness in Absalom
    Anchor Text: Proverbs 19:11
    Contemporary Quote:
*"Holding a grudge doesn’t make you strong; it makes you bitter. Forgiving doesn’t make you weak; it sets you free." — Dave Willis

Offense is often the unseen seed of disunity. Many leaders, like Absalom, may appear calm on the outside while they harbor unresolved hurt within. This silent offense poisons relationships, weakens ministries, and eventually explodes in destructive behavior.

A godly leader processes offense through prayer, wise counsel, and the Word—not through silence and scheming.

    Search your heart:

    • Are you harboring silent offenses?
    • Has a leader or sibling in ministry hurt you?
    • Are you masking bitterness behind silence?

Bring that pain to God. Speak truth in love. Ask the Lord for the grace to forgive before offense turns into hatred. Don’t let silence become sin.

  • Kindness After Conflict | BPS9 E06

Title: Kindness After Conflict: David’s Mercy to Saul’s Family
    Anchor Text: Luke 6:35
    Contemporary Quote:
*"Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love." — Lao Tzu

David reminds us that our leadership legacy is measured not just by victories won, but by the compassion we show when we have the power to withhold it.

    Ask:

    • Is there a “Mephibosheth” I am overlooking?
    • How can I show unexpected kindness as a Christian leader?

Make it your mission this week to reach out in kindness—especially where it’s least expected.

  • Choosing the Path of Peace | BPS9 E05

Title: Choosing the Path of Peace: David’s Pursuit of Reconciliation with Saul
    Anchor Text: Romans 12:18
    Contemporary Quote:
*"Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the presence of God no matter the conflict." — Unknown & John 14:27; Phi. 4:7

In times of conflict—whether among colleagues, church members, or adversaries—Christian leaders must be the first to pursue reconciliation. David teaches us that peacemaking is proactive, not reactive. He reached out to Saul, spoke with respect, and appealed to God's justice rather than taking revenge into his own hands.

True leaders resolve rather than escalate. They sow peace even when surrounded by war.

Are there people in your life or ministry with whom peace has been broken?
    Ask yourself:

    • Have I done everything within my power to pursue reconciliation?
    • Am I waiting for others to make the first move, or will I lead by reaching out?

  • Responding with Forbearance | BPS9 E04

Title: Responding with Forbearance: David’s Patience Toward Saul
    Anchor Text: Col. 3:13
    Contemporary Quote:
*"Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting." — Joyce Meyer

Leaders today must learn to wait. There are moments when quick responses feel right, but forbearance reminds us that some victories come only through endurance. The ability to “stay under” pressure with grace is a mark of godly leadership.

Forbearance is not passivity—it’s holy resilience. It says, “God sees, and God will act—so I will wait.”

Reflect on these questions this week:

    • Are you currently in a “wilderness” season as a leader?
    • Are you tempted to force a solution rather than wait on God's provision?
    • Are you bearing with someone who wrongs you repeatedly?

  • Responding with Self-Control | BPS9 E03

Title: Responding with Self-Control: David’s Restraint Toward Saul
    Anchor Text: 1 Samuel 26:9
    Contemporary Quote:
*"You can’t control someone else’s behavior, but you can control how you respond to it." — Roy T. Bennett

David’s self-control set a precedent for all leaders. He didn’t confuse opportunity with divine permission. He understood that timing, motive, and method matter to God.

In leadership today, self-control is required in boardrooms, pulpits, group chats, and personal conversations. When you are falsely accused or undermined, self-control means choosing silence over slander, wisdom over reaction.

    This week, ask yourself:

    • Where am I most tempted to lose control—in speech, emotion, or behavior?
    • Who or what pushes my buttons as a leader?
    • How can I rely on the Holy Spirit to strengthen my self-control?

  • Responding in Love | BPS9 E02

Title: Responding in Love: David’s Heart Toward Saul
    Anchor Text: Matthew 5:44
    Contemporary Quote:
"Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." — Martin Luther King Jr.

Leadership is often tested not in victories but in how we handle enemies. David teaches us that love restrains our response and elevates our calling.

A leader who loves his enemies gains moral authority. David’s refusal to kill Saul won him the loyalty of others and confirmed his integrity before God.

    Reflect on this:

    • Who has hurt or betrayed you in your leadership journey?
    • Have you been tempted to retaliate—openly or subtly?
    • How can you show the love of Christ to those who have made themselves your enemies?

  • Leaders and Forgiveness | BPS9 E01

Title: Leaders and the Grace to Forgive

    Anchor Text: Matthew 18:21–35
    Contemporary Quote:
"Forgiveness is not an occasional act; it is a constant attitude." — Martin Luther King Jr.

A leader who forgives becomes a peacemaker, a reconciler, and a trust builder. Without forgiveness, leadership becomes oppressive, reactive, and controlling.

As we begin this season, pause to reflect:

    • Who do you need to forgive in your leadership journey?
    • What wounds are you still carrying that may be affecting your ability to lead?
    • Can you decide today to start walking in forgiveness?
