What's The Story: Saxon is a band that was crucial in helping me to develop my taste in hard rock and metal music as a teenager growing up in the early 80s. I first discovered the band on a weekly trip to the mall record store, where I'd spend hours reading Kerrang magazine. My first money was spent picking up an import cassette of the very first Eagle Has Landed live record. From the opening of "Motorcycle Man," it was clear this was to be a new musical love for me. - Steven Michael Saxon are an English heavy metal band formed in 1977, in Barnsley. During the 1980s, Saxon established themselves as one of Europe's greatest metal acts. As one of the leaders of the new wave of British heavy metal, they had eight UK Top 40 albums, including four UK Top 10 albums and two Top 5 albums. The band also had numerous singles in the UK Singles Chart, chart success all over Europe and Japan, and in the United States. The band tour regularly and have sold more than 23 million albums worldwide.
