And Paul Stanley in a recent interview… Stanley told Broken Record about the Vegas event (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): “ It started off as something, honestly, that Gene and I kind of took a back seat in, and, honestly, we reached a point not too far in the past where we both said, ‘You know what? This isn’t the way we want it.’ And it’s going to go through some major changes to be what we think it should be.

“We spent 12 years nurturing a KISS cruise and what that means and what goes into it and what you get to participate in and the social aspects between fans from 33 countries,” Paul explained. “So, this virtually will become a KISS cruise in Vegas. [It] doesn’t need a ship. It will have all the familiar touchstones that people love about a KISS cruise, whether it’s bands playing, Q&As, contests, food available, good drinks, social aspects to it.

“So, it started in a way that we kind of took a step back to see what some other people might do. And then we recently found ourselves going, ‘No. This isn’t what we want to do or the way we wanna do it.’ So there’ll be some announcements forthcoming and a lot of stuff where people are gonna be very happy, as I am, that.

50 years ago, KISS debuted in Japan with the release of Dressed to Kill on Victor Music. KISS’s success spread like wildfire. In March 1977, their first tour shook Japan to its core. KISS played four shows at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan in 1977, five a year later, and came back in 1988, ten years later, for two more Budokan shows, and again in 1995. That was 30 years ago this year.

KISS at Budokan is a one-of-a kind photo album: 160 pages, featuring KISS photos from the mighty Shinko Music archives as well as other Japanese photo archives –many that have never been published… until NOW! He now owns Michael Brandvold Marketing, providing marketing services and digital strategy to musicians. Tommy Sommers spent 15 years on the record show circuit collecting, trading and selling memorabilia / Kiss merchandise. He is now a successful residential Real Estate agent in the Minneapolis / St. Paul area. Tommy has also produced a KISS song For The Oddfathers and is the owner of Rock Steady Digital Photography. Mark Cicchini, is a world renown KISS collector. KISS have used parts of Mark’s vast KISS collection for audio, video & print materials including their book NOTHIN TO LOSE, CD re release of the LOVE GUN album & the VH1 Ultimate Album KISS ALIVE! special as well as many other KISS projects. His wife also makes a mean meatloaf!!!
