How is penis vitiligo diagnosed?

Vitiligo is usually diagnosed during a thorough physical exam. If it’s affecting your penis, your doctor will likely examine the rest of your body as well. They might also shine an ultraviolet light on the area to help confirm that it’s vitiligo.

Depending on your symptoms, they may also take a small skin sample from your penis to examine under a microscope. This is known as a biopsy. It’ll help them rule out a condition called balanitis xerotica obliterans, an inflammatory skin condition. It starts out as a red, itchy sore. But over time, the affected skin can turn white.

On a recent afternoon, an audience composed mostly of survivors of sexual abuse sat in the Times Center auditorium in Manhattan for a preview screening of Dan Reed’s “Leaving Neverland,” to be followed by a Q. and A. led by Oprah Winfrey. The documentary, which aired on HBO in two parts on a Sunday and Monday, profiles Wade Robson and James Safechuck, two men who say Michael Jackson sexually abused them when they were children.

The Jan. 3 debut of the Lifetime docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly” dealt a swift blow to R. Kelly’s career. One week after the premiere of the incendiary exposé covering longstanding sexual abuse allegations against him and uncovering new ones, several WELL-KNOWN celebrities cemented his persona non grata status by joining Team #MuteRKelly.
