On a beautiful spring morning in 2004, Brian Foutz heard a car door slam shut in his driveway. He walked to his window, expecting to see his daughter, Victoria, returning from an overnight stay with a friend. Instead he saw two officers from the county sheriff's office. The officers were coming to deliver news that would change Brian's life forever.
Once inside, the officers told Brian that his daughter wouldn't be coming home. At only eighteen years old, Victoria had been shot in the head and killed.
From Misery to Ministry is the story of how Brian and his wife, Leah, find the strength to overcome the loss of their daughter. Brian and Leah offer a moving, intimate account of Victoria's funeral, the trial of her accused killers, and their efforts to find meaning after the grief and heartbreak caused by their daughter's death. With advice on dealing with sudden rushes of emotion, seeking professional counsel, and maintaining a loving marriage in the face of the darkest of tragedies, From Misery to Ministry is a powerful tool for any family that has lost a loved one. Brian and Leah bless all readers with their honesty, their vulnerability, and their message of hope.

Strength, Love, and God
This book is an amazing testimony of what faith and love of God can heal. As a parent, I can't imagine the pain they have suffered. I am sure they still have rough hard days, but they know there is a better day ahead and they will spend eternity with their beautiful daughter. This is my second time reading this book and I am sure I will read it again.
I too have lost my only child, my daughter, my best friend
I finished reading this book by Brian and Leah Foutz and it gave me hope. I lost my daughter almost 3 years ago, March 1, 2009 and if I did not have faith as a Christian, I don't know where I would be today. This is a must read for parents who have lost a child. Your heart will ache, but we do have hope and the knowledge that our daughters are with their Lord and Savior... and we will be also when our time on this earth is over. Until then, we have to offer hope to others that find themselves on this journey.
Thank you, Leah and Brian for sharing your story and your hope...and may God continue to bless you.

Wow
I read the review of this book and was lead by the Lord to purchase a copy. I don't know how the Lord will use me as a vessel after reading the book but it is truly a keeper and the testimony can truly be applicable to any of us at any time. Very well written and a "must read."
Painfully raw and a moving true story of a family fighting the loss of a loved one!!
