Originally aired September 28, 2017 Uriel Eisen and Maggie Burke made their own Bikepacking bags and tent to go bikepacking in the Ecuadorian Andes. There were a lot of unknowns going in. Neither of them spoke much Spanish and neither of had done much high altitude activities. It was challenging at times with brutally rugged terrain, but the friendly people and the grandeur of the Andes made it incredibly rewarding for these two! Check it out. During his day job Eric writes about Michigan football for Sports Illustrated and works at a Mexican Restaurant. However, during breaks from work, Eric takes solo travel experiences all around the world to some of the most exotic places. Eric’s confidence in travel began a few years ago when he attempted a 120-mile solo canoe trip on the Au Sable River in his hometown of Grayling. Originally aired August 22, 2021 At 37, Jesse McNeil—at times carpenter, commercial fisherman, dabbler in real estate—decided to buy an untrained horse, make himself into a horseman, and ride all the way across the United States, from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean. A fiercely independent traveler, Jesse had navigated previous coast-to-coast trips—solo journeys by moped, bicycle, and small airplane.
