The Chief of a Mi’kmaq First Nation says that an RCMP officer shot a community member over the weekend in New Brunswick. The chief says that there will be no comment further until he’s spoken with the family. But what do we know happened so far? What has the reaction been like in New Brunswick? This is the second shooting of an indigenous person in a week, after a BC was shot last week.

In April, Hamilton paramedics responded to 55 opioid related incidents, which is the highest since May 2019. Due to closures and reduced hours due to the pandemic, there is a misconception that there’s a shortage of Naloxone in the city. Harsit Patel is a pharmacist at a local hospital and goes into detail about naloxone and opioid situations.
