LITERATURE – Washington journalist and author Bill Murphy Jr. (no relation) was trying to use his name as his facebook custom URL when he discovered that I had already taken it.  Aside from the obvious, we have other things in common such as open-minded political thinking, admiration of dogs and career multitasking. His new book, The Intelligent Entrepreneur chronicles Harvard Business School grads and their businesses. He’s also been embedded in Iraq for the Post and worked for Bob Woodward. Learn more about the new book here and find Bill on facebook.

MUSIC FRIDAY – Serious old-school South Florida rock ‘n roll fans will remember Scott. The rest of you have heard Scott’s voice on TVs all over the country for 20 years.  We get a little out of hand and go 45 minutes listening to three pieces of music (including a track from Scott’s new “Hippie Trip” project) and comparing stories about radio, music, math, MIDI, mids, tubes and plug-ins. Yes. I know. Very geeky. To catch up with Scott and get a look at the making of Hippie Trip here’s his facebook page.
