The Saint Louis Billikens continue their dominant run, blowing out conference rival Richmond Spiders 88–63 at Chaifetz Arena to improve to 17–1 overall and 5–0 in A-10 play. The win marks SLU’s 11th straight victory and just the second time in program history the Billikens have started 17–1
Saint Louis seized control early, jumping out to a quick lead and never looking back. It was the third time in five conference games the Billikens won by 20+ points, showcasing their ability to dominate from start to finish
Offensively, Robbie Avila once again dictated the game with his scoring touch and elite basketball IQ, punishing Richmond switches and finishing efficiently inside. Off the bench, Kellen Thames brought instant electricity, delivering quick buckets, steals, and highlight-reel dunks that ignited the crowd and broke the game open
Defense was the real story. SLU smothered Richmond’s Princeton-style offense with relentless, connected half-court defense, holding the Spiders in check possession after possession. The Billikens won the points-in-the-paint battle decisively and consistently turned strong defense into transition offense
Head coach Josh Schertz praised the team’s unselfishness and execution, as all nine rotation players scored, highlighting the depth and chemistry that continue to fuel this special run
With another statement win in the books, the Billikens now turn their attention to a road matchup at Duquesne Dukes, as SLU looks to keep rolling and further cement itself among the nation’s elite.
