  • Business Scaling & Today's Leaders
The Boss Argument. It can be said there is a real vacuum for true leadership talent. In any conversation. a large percentage of workers in America have a passionate dislike for their boss and overall leadership in the workplace. Why do people have an uncomfortable feeling for their boss or team leader? Often, people who work for a living as employees have a direct boss or team leader to whom they report. The intention of these leaders is to guide and steer their people for productivity and results. In addition to the aforementioned, these leaders are responsible for relationship management with their employees and team members.  The Interview The interview with Ron was a river flow of information for those who may be managers, companies owners or Human resources specialist.  His primary function at Navalent is helping global startup and large companies scale and grow their business. Often as explained by Ron, companies don't know the difference between scaling and growth for their company.  The companies executives Ron works with are usually in the throes of messy and transformational change. Transformational change is not immediate, often requiring years of involvement and tweaking. One of the greatest lessons Navalent has learned was leaders don't contextualize properly and adapt to a new paradigm.  Localization is the major force behind the contextualization, understand the same method does not work in each scenario.  This contextualization is truly relevant in regional transplanted companies from different geographic areas. Additionally, the perception of millennials in the work place have the related issues. Millennials in the work place We talked a good clip about millennials and how this particular generation has scaled and built "businesses who employ workers are at the bottom of the latter related to other generations.  The actual nature of millennials would be less entrepreneur and more Solopreneur. Growth versus Scaling The myth concerning growth is understood as doing more of the same with the same amount of resources after driving demand. Scaling is adding revenue faster than accruing cost.  There can be a fine line difference between growth and scale up, but many companies don't understand the difference. About Ron Carucci Ron is co-founder and managing partner at Navalent. His duties focus around working with CEOs and executives pursuing transformational change for their organizations, leaders, and industries.  His thirty-year track record helping some of the world’s most influential executives focused on helping tackle challenges of strategy, organization, and leadership.  THe scope of duties ranges from start-ups to Fortune 10 companies for functional turnarounds to new markets and strategies, overhauling leadership and culture to re-designing for growth.  Ron has performed his magic work in more than 25 countries on 4 continents.   Ron's Contributions include:

  • Finding Creative Mojo - Leslie Nolan
Finding Creative Mojo with Leslie Noland of Nolan Design I was wondering how my interview, finding creative mojo with Leslie Noland of Noland design was going to pan out. Let's say if someone tells me they can help me get my MOJO back working, I'm suspicious. Usually, the mention/thought of therapy or other methods to will get you back into the groove of being yourself comes to mind. Leslie has a different approach, being an artist of high emotional and spiritual intelligence, bringing alternate methods to the forefront to help people. What I did not expect was such a down to earth conversation about finding one's own center by tapping the creative power we all have available.  My sense of the world gives me the feeling we are emotional cerebral society. Humans justify emotional responses with cerebral logic. Basically, we live too much in our heads and forget the true message delivered by the heart. The cerebral mechanism seems to have has taken over our globe connection process, and the world needs people like Leslie to remind our consciousness there are alternate methods for connecting with the eternal self. • Life Change - Do A Day -Bryan Falchuk
Facebook – The Billionaire LifeStyle   iTunes  – The Billionaire LifeStyle     Stitcher: – The Billionaire LifeStyle Life Change - Do A Day -Bryan Falchuk Change is constant for the living and is made in small increment. There is a constant though related to change, it can't come quick enough when change is a choice.  Often change is pressed upon us via circumstances. [caption id="attachment_1655" align="alignleft" width="300"] Personal Life Change - Do A Day -Bryan Falchuk[/caption] I was dying just a little slower. During my interview with Bryan Falchuk hearing the statement mentioned in. The previous statement was jarring. My guest on the Billionaire Lifestyle podcast, Bryan Falchuk is the blueprint for reinventing who and what any of us are as human beings on the journey Earth.  Bryan didn't know six plus years ago his wife and child would be the inspiration for massive positive changes for the next phase of his life. Bryan's pivotal life moment manifested when he realized circumstances may be out of his control. Instead of giving in to the moment, he decided to take back control of the life aspect he put on apathy autopilot.  Realizing he and we are responsible for how we live our life was his new life mission. Health, economics, and preservation of self is part of living. We can neglect our health and finances for only so long before we feel the negative consequences. Living your life is about growing, and growing requires maintaining the bare minimum status while looking forward to positive increase. Bryans Time For Personal Change June 30th, 2011 [caption id="attachment_1656" align="alignleft" width="300"] Bryan Falchuk book cover personal Change Do a Day[/caption] Bryan's wife was at the mercy of a chronic illness. While situated between his wife who was losing two pounds a day and his son, Bryan realized he had several responsibilities bestowed upon him mantel.
    • Help his wife to become healthier.
    • Raise his some with the best examples.
    • Maximize his living experience for health, and living for his family.
He knew in that moment he shares with his wife and young son, that he was slowly killing himself as he watched his wife battle with her illness. "I was dying, just a bit slower than my wife," Bryan stated during our conversation. Bryan was overweight, depressed and not happy, but it was all an internal reaction to the outside world. The decision to change was made.  A result of life provided a path to Bryan's journey and inspiration for Do a Day book. Bryan knew he had to lose weight while maintaining a healthy lifestyle to inspire and direct his family. His son was a heavy motivator for making life changes. Failing To Plan Is Planning To Fail. People have a variety of individual challenges in their life. Most fail to meet their individual goals. Goal achievement requires specific planning and dedication. We are all full of excuses, usually stemming from comfort zones. We all make goals but don't commit to them in the long term. The flip side is not committing to your goal for the long term. Success in achieving goals requires planning and measurement. Bryan reinforced planning and goal achievement failure to partial commitment. Making change requires small dedicated behavior changes for the long term. When your goal has been obtained the next challenge is to set the bar higher. Many people try to deter your efforts and shun our work. Making significant changes are difficult, but internal resolve is dire. BRYAN FALCHUK - Personal Change Bryan Falchuk overcame adversity via personal change, lost nearly 100 pounds, ran a marathon, dramatically change his diet and created an approach to help others live a better life, every day. That way is Do a Day. Like so many people, Bryan has faced challenges in life, like obesity, depression, work stress, the responsibilities of parenthood, the potential of losing his wife to illness, and more. And he struggled, like anyone else. Through his struggle, he learned the secret to not just overcoming any individual challenge, but creating a life of achievement, happiness, and harmony. In Do a Day, you will learn how to make each day contribute to your goals so you can live the life you want to live - a better life. Do a Day frees you of the burden and judgment of yesterday‘s choices while relieving you of the pressure of what tomorrow may bring. By teaching you how to identify your true motivation and how to use that to focus on what you have to do today, Do a Day will help you change your life. DO A Day Certified Personal Trainer and Behavior Change Specialist, Bryan helps people change their lives for the better. He is a husband, father, brother, uncle, son, and more. Bryan spent the first half of his life obese, and much of the second half trying not to be obese again until he discovered the approach to change all that – Do a Day. Using Do A Day, Bryan was able to break from this pattern to live a life of consistent, unending health and wellness, and works to share what he’s learned with others seeking a happier, more complete existence through newbodi.es . As Bryan says, people don’t change, lives do. His goal is to help people change their lives. Bryan changed his life while staying true to himself. So can you make changes for your own life. • Finding Purpose - Debbie N. Goldberg Interview
[caption id="attachment_1620" align="alignleft" width="170"] Spiritual Maturity photo credit: Pragmagraphr 366 • 103 • Now and then via photopin (license)[/caption] What am I to do? What is my Purpose? Have you ever been on the wrong path, knowing what you are doing or into is not really your truth? There are expectations of every human being which are not our own. Families and communities try their best to give us a way to fit into the cog of society. Often these steered directions don't resonate with who we are. Funny, but true, may humans live a life feeling as if they are missing their true direction. I can clearly remember in my youth, people I would meet who's parents had a predetermined path for their children. Only to find them washing out of whatever endeavor their parents had set for their future.  Debbie N. Goldberg's Journey [caption id="attachment_1617" align="alignleft" width="300"] Debbie N. Goldberg - Finding Purpose[/caption] Debbie Goldberg had the very similar scenario. She was working herself to death in a career she felt was missing something. The big question for every human has been, including Debbie is, what is my purpose. There is a common understanding we are alive/living beings. The acts related to being alive and experiencing a certain reality is an understated spoken fact of truth. Lingering from the moments we can construct a full thought is what is the point of being here on Earth.   Debbie found herself working like a slave and in the process slowly killing herself on all levels, mentally spiritually and physically. Something had to change and she needed a kick in the pants to make that change. Physical Maturity versus Spiritual maturity. Society considers and recognizes us humans as an adult based purely on reaching a number of years on the planet for the most part. Reinforced during the interview with Debbie was maturity is more than just a physical age. Our spiritual being also has a maturing process. Common in most languages is the term "Old Soul". Well, that is a real manifestation. Recently I began hearing the term of a "Young Soul". Debbie laid it out during our interview regarding the maturity of souls and her journey. She stated, living here on earth is an exercise for experience, growth, and learning. Some humans have been on this planet in various incarnations while others are relatively new to the physical occupation. Life for Debbie began to change well into her adulthood. She had a successful business and was working with too much drive for success and to prove herself to others. She had not defined the goal of success. In essence, she was working hard to be working hard.  The pivotal moment came when she had a falling out with her son and his wife in 2014. THe situation cause some heartbreak.  Debbie did something most people can't. She questioned herself, asking what is it I'm doing to cause this problem?   Enter Jesus. During a guided meditation session Debbie met Jesus by a pool. Yes, I said that correctly. During her meditation, Jesus shows up and began hanging out.  Over time, continuing the meditation the relationship developed. There is one item I must mention Debbie recognized herself as a cultural Jew. So Jesus showing up was a little confusing for her. Initially,  verbal communication did not occur until she began by saying "hello" to Jesus. After verbal acknowledgment began, the information dialogue began to flow. You may say that is crazy, but it is not if you open your thought process. [caption id="attachment_1625" align="aligncenter" width="206"] Jesus Spiritual Guide Finding purpose even to non-believers-photo credit: translator, artist, Renaissance scholar thorns via photopin (license)[/caption] The Guide The conversations with her new found guide in Jesus began a new path in life and basic lessons.
    • Earth is a playground for souls to mature toward higher levels of consciousness.
    • Life is an Illusion.
    • The ego is her to protect us but can hinder our progress.
    • The Soul is in human form and also connect universally.
    • The Soul has a contract with the source to learn in THIS lifetime.
    • We all have a purpose.
    • Everything we experience is a reflection of what is inside of us.
    • We are all connected to each other and the universal consciousness.
    • We are all Devine.
Sometimes we look so hard for a complex answer if the obvious is missing. Debbie Goldberg has a clue for us to move forward and find our direction and purpose. The interview I had with Debbie was an affirmation related to how the construction of organized religion has skewed our sense of spiritual essence. She spelled out how our ego can be with all of its good intentions hinder spiritual progressing. The Ego Eckhart Tolle talks a great deal about the EGO's negative effect on living. Debbie affirmed many of Eckhart's theories. The ego is her to protect us, much like an overbearing parent. THe ego is pulling from a time when life on this planet was extremely harsh. Dangerous situations were everywhere compared to modern living. The ego evolved to keep us in safe conditions. In doing its work, the Ego can hinder your growth by limiting the learning process, by limiting experiences.   The Interview. Here are a few point played out during the interview.
    •  Finding purpose is easy if you are open.
    • Meditate to get away from the Ego.
    • Think inward.
    • Hear with your heart, where the soul resides.
    • God talks to us through our heart.
    • If you don't know your purpose then Ask.
    • Life is an illusion you can control.
    • We are all connected.
    • If you want to talk to the spirit, invite a good spirit to communicate with you.
    •  Learn to breathe properly, breathing correctly opens your energy.

Marques Ogden - Evolved Leadership [caption id="attachment_1584" align="alignleft" width="200"] Marques Ogden Life after Football[/caption] Our American heroes are typically military personnel and athletes. It is no wonder because these individuals put their life and health on the line for us in on way or another. http://www.marquesogden.com/ Leadership heroes never accept defeat. When times are tough, they dig deep and find a new path, a new way, and move forward. Defeat is never an option for a hero.  There may be setbacks but the notion of quitting is forbidden. The very drive these people exhibit in their chosen profession often creates the best leaders, because of the adversity and challenges they have conquered. No one said it would be easy, and that is pulled from the bottom of their DNA.  Finding your Leadership and future There is never a time when the world does not need good leaders. I had the privilege of talking with a man who grabbed the leadership reigns laser focused forward and never looked back because the only option is forward in living. That man is Marques Ogden former NFL offensive lineman with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Baltimore Ravens, the Buffalo Bills, and the Tennessee Titans until 2007. Marques understood time in the NFL was typically finite. He began planning to make a mark in the world after the NFL by being community minded and moving toward being an entrepreneur for life after his NFL time was done. It is easy to recall the status of various high-profile National Football League players who became financially broke after their playing days were complete. To get an insight check out the 30 for 30 episode titled Broke.  Marques was determined to have a legacy after football, that included financial and career prosperity. Mr. Ogden came from a family of competitive men, be it sports or life. Giving credit to his father and brother as his guides and inspiration early in his life. Today his inspiration is his family and other he can help provide opportunities. After his NFL stint ended, Marques was the operator of a very successful construction company, for several years. The business was great until a good deal went South. As any great leader Marques owns the responsibility of what happened. What now! If there is anything in life a person learns is what not to do and how to adapt. Doing whatever was required to provide, Marques humbled himself and began to provide for his family and plan for the future once again. Let the words flow People who practice conscious living and experience made for great leaders. He began speaking to anyone who had an ear, promoting leadership, business, and determination.  As he ventured into new territory, his mind's eye began to show a path to success. Speaking engagements began to grow and become more frequent. What does a leader do? [caption id="attachment_1585" align="alignleft" width="200"] Marques Ogden profiled[/caption] http://www.marquesogden.com/speaking_academy Leaders build other leaders, so Marques created a speaker bureau for other athletes to have a voice. Teaching networking, value and leadership skills to other sports veterans and untapped speaking talent. Tips from Marques Ogden:
    • Fail = First Attempt At Learning
    • Failure is a stepping stone to success.
    • If you own a business, Market, market, market! Critical to success.
    • Know your business - be an expert!
    • Vet your partner and employees
    • Proper funding
    • Know when to walk away.
We all have talents and leadership skills, and the best teacher is life itself. Take the talents you already have and see how those talents apply to other areas. Marques Ogden is a success story because he does not live in the past and is bringing people into the future.

  • Tori Tolbert - Domestically Abused To Boss
From domestic abused to Boss - Tori Tolbert [caption id="attachment_1561" align="alignleft" width="300"] Tori Tolbert Blaqueline Entertainment CEO[/caption] Tori Tolbert is the editor and chief of Blaqueline magazine. She is a highly intelligent, vibrant and honest individual who suffered domestic mental and physical abuse at the hands of her previous partner for twelve years. During the twelve year period of her life, she constantly moved forward, progressing toward her life goals inspire of her poor relationship. learning to compartmentalize the relationship that caused so much grief. The mission for living today for Tori is sharing her story to empower people who are in an abusive relationship. We all need angels to guide us at various points in our life and God has provided another in Tori Tolbert.   Stay positive - This too shall pass When a woman is fed up and emotionally disconnected, there is nothing you can do to change her mind. Tori was that fed up woman.  Fed up with the situation, she plotted her escape for about a year. Her plan was making baby steps of empowerment to move away from the negative energy relationship. There are ground rules for those suffering at the hands of another. If the rules are not obeyed then there is a price to pay. A hefty emotional and sometimes physical loss is usually the price for the smallest infraction of the rules. The best part of being in a game with rules is finding the weakness to exploit for max benefit. No matter what game is afoot. [caption id="attachment_1575" align="alignleft" width="300"] photo credit: Leo Reynolds NORFOLK SAYS NO via photopin (license)[/caption] Embarrassing secrets The obvious emotion Tori endured was the personal embarrassment. Once again we go back to plotting in her baby steps, subtly letting people around her know about the abuse she was enduring.  Planning her escape from the torment of her home, was the driving force future prosperity.  One tactic she used to bring people into her world was to pass an emergency contact in case something happened out of her control. Tori stated during our interview " I gave my mother as an emergency contact, in the event something physical happened." Most people would wonder why her spouse would not be the emergency contact unless Tori's spouse could not be trusted. Subtle Ray's of Hope and empowerment were gaining momentum in her actions. In a portion of the interview, Tori let me know she had a 5:30 pm curfew, to which she began pushing the boundaries by five minutes in an act of defiance.  It was the little victories giving her the strength to move forward with her independence from her abusive spouse.  She endured the abuse for twelve years until she had enough.  Some of you may be thinking this is a great Tyler Perry movie, but it was real life. She explained an accomplishment never actually materializing. Tori tried out and landed a spot for a cheerleading position with a professional football team. It was all for nothing because her spouse squashed p the move. Listening to Tori's story gave me an understanding of these types of relationships.  People who abuse other typically have suffered themselves. Still, dreams never die, they just morph and reform. Some People Refuse to be helped Controlling the environment of the relationship, or possibly being the victim of abuse themselves, is often at the root. Minorities, particularly in America have placed a negative stigma on seeking professional help or asking for help.  We all have the ability to get help.  There are plenty of places, website, and opportunities for those who require help.  Seeking someone to speak with for guidance, and help is available through your local human resources, churches, and civic programs. Tori lays bare from the abuse to her departure from man to her new found love during the podcast. Her purpose is to show individuals relating to her story, there is hope and a way out. We talked for an hour and could have talked for 4 hours. The point of it all, we cannot define ourselves by what others have done to us. Dreams are real and must never be laid to rest. • What Women Want with Elliott Katz
What Women Want -  Being the Strong Man A Woman Wants [caption id="attachment_1543" align="aligncenter" width="300"] photo credit: mariadelajuana Promise via photopin (license)[/caption] What women want from a man is the age old question particularly for many men. We are (men and women)  fundamentally different creature spiritually and psychologically.  We often hear communication is key to a healthy relationship, but what happens when pieces of the conversation are lost in translation? Elliott Katz has pulled information from his own life to begin his journey after the demise of his own ten-year marriage. This began a journey of research and understanding to find out the modern missing link. Through his life experiences and countless hours of study, Elliott began to see the missing pieces before his very eyes.  Timeless knowledge. Women want a man who has leadership skills without being controlling. I have battled with the understanding of understanding what my past relationship partners required in our relationships. The conclusion is each party must be open to the dialog and make requirement clear. Elliot states, nothing has really changed over time, but the messages from outside influences have changed. Men are portrayed as weak or overbearing. Confusing the matter is the dialog of the feminist and other movements that may not explain the necessary requirement and clear understanding of people wants. He asked you out -- and then couldn’t even decide where to go for a cup of coffee? Why are women today are so frustrated with today’s men? "A lot of men don’t realize what they’re doing to try to have a good relationship – such as asking a woman out and then expecting her to make the plans -- may be making things worse," says Elliott Katz, whose book Being the Strong Man A Woman Wants: Timeless wisdom on being a man has been translated into 24 languages by publishers in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa. An Amazon customer reviewer wrote, “This book has saved our marriage.” A woman wrote about the book’s insights, “If my husband of 38 years had understood these basic but crucial truths, my marriage would not have disintegrated.” [caption id="attachment_1544" align="aligncenter" width="300"] photo credit: Nithi clicks Love Has No Age via photopin (license)[/caption] Katz shares insights on being a man that has been lost to many men in this generation:
    • Show your share of leadership. One of the biggest complaints women have about men today is that they don’t show their share of leadership. When a man sees a situation that needs to be dealt with that is not being dealt with, he should step forward and deal with it.
    • Make decisions. To many women, a man who avoids making decisions is shirking his responsibilities.
    • Take responsibility. Don’t blame others for something that goes wrong. Step forward and deal with it.
    To women he advises:
    • Encourage your man to make decisions. If he asks you to make a decision -- such as choosing a place to go for coffee -- say, “You decide” and let him decide.
    • Inform him of a situation where his leadership can help and ask him to handle it. Telling the man in your life what to do is not advised, but it is important to avoid contradicting him, unless what he wants to do is dangerous or damaging.
    • Appreciate him. Tell him you appreciate him dealing with the situation.
Being the Strong Man A Woman Wants is available as a paperback from Amazon.com and bookstores and as an ebook from Kindle, iBooks and Kobo. [caption id="attachment_1550" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Author Elliott Katz[/caption]
