Two books into this whole Stephen King Retrospective (though it is in fact the third book) and we might have hit the plateau. The Shining has an interesting set of distinctions in the author's bibliography. It remains one of the author's most popular books among readers. Yet, the original film adaptation has sparked more debate than anything that has ever been adapted. Is it a question of Stanley Kubrick taking the novel's contents and changing them in the name of the author, whom Kubrick had called 'a brat'? Or, is it really one of the scariest movies ever made, and King's shots at it over the unwarranted? Listen in as myself, Matt, and Adam rejoin to answer some of this debate.
