Brisbane has been hammered with heavy rainfall, strong winds and flash flooding after Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred made landfall late last night.

Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner told Peter Fegan on 4BC's Special Coverage, "We're all going to do our best to try and get things back to normal, but this continues to change and it is uncertain at the moment."

"There are some things that keep changing, to give people a high degree of certainty right now is just not possible."

"There are a lot of impacts, power, roads and a whole range of things are down across the city," Lord Mayor Schrinner said.
