During this significant encounter, the monastics chanted prayers for his long life in Chinese, highlighting the cross-cultural spiritual connections he maintains.
Throughout 2025, His Holiness has been celebrating his 90th birthday with various ceremonies and cultural performances. The year has been designated a "Year of Compassion" by the Central Tibetan Administration, running from July 6th through July 6th of next year. In June, a pre-celebration of his milestone birthday was held at the United States Capitol, where bipartisan representatives acknowledged his advocacy for peace and designated July 6th as "A Day of Compassion" in his honor and in solidarity with the Tibetan people.
His Holiness continues to maintain an active public schedule with regular teachings, long-life prayers, and community engagements at the Main Tibetan Temple in Dharamsala, India.
