Here's what to expect at the White Mountain Sheriff's Posse BBQ & Auction at Charlie Clark's — The Orchard, happening Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM MST : ⸻ 🎯 Event Overview The annual BBQ & Auction hosted by the White Mountain Sheriff's Posse is a community fundraiser supporting volunteer search and rescue operations in Arizona's rugged White Mountains. Proceeds also help fund scholarships and community programs . ⸻ 📍 Location & Setting • Venue: The Orchard at Charlie Clark's Steakhouse, nestled at 1701 E. White Mountain Blvd, Pinetop‑Lakeside, AZ atop the beautiful 7,200-foot White Mountains . • Surrounded by Ponderosa pines with an open-air Orchard area—perfect for outdoor games, music, and mingling. ⸻ 🍽 Food & Atmosphere • Enjoy barbecued pork or chicken, served with traditional sides like corn, beans, coleslaw, buns, and soft drinks. Ice cream available too (often $1) . • Tickets are $20/adult and $10/child, with kids 5 and under admitted free—advance purchase offers discounts. ⸻ 🎶 Live Entertainment & Auction • The Barn Sour Band will perform live, creating a festive atmosphere from noon onward . • There's also an auction and raffle, offering prizes and community engagement. You can donate items or cash in advance through local contacts or the Posse members . ⸻ ↔️ Why Attend • Support a worthy cause: Funds go directly to volunteer search and rescue in the local region. • Local community vibe: Meet residents, enjoy mountain views, and share a meal. • Family-friendly: Free admission for very young kids and a nimble outdoor setup. • Rustic venue: Charlie Clark's mixed indoor-outdoor facilities blend dining history (open since 1938) with casual, shaded outdoor fun . ⸻ 🧳 Visitor & Itinerary Tips • It's about a 20-minute drive from Show Low—combine the event with a scenic day exploring the White Mountains. • Check Charlie Clark's hours—they close Tuesdays, but the BBQ event is on Saturday . • Bring cash or card separately for tickets and raffle/auction bids. • Arrive early to grab good seating, connect with volunteers, and stroll the grounds before lunch begins.
